It's a long shot, I know, but does anyone have some recommendations for overnight horse boarding in New Mexico?
Daughter will be moving two OTTB (off the track thoroughbreds) from Tucson to Amarillo in late November, and it's just a bit too long for a one day trip, so she's splitting it into two days. She's pretty particular about them, so no barbed wire, etc.
She can go I-10 to I-25 to I-40 (Las Cruces/Albuquerque), or she can go I-10 to Las Cruces, then 70/54/I-40, the Alamogordo to Vaughn to Santa Rosa route. Or even Alamogordo to Roswell to Clovis to Amarillo. They are all about the same travel time.
She's tried her usual Internet searches for this sort of thing, but hasn't had good luck. On the way out there, she over-nighted in a place in Alamogordo that promised nice paddocks and covered stalls. When she got there, they told her those were only for permanent boarders. So she's very wary of some of these operators.
Alamogordo or Socorro are about 1/2 way, so she'd like to get that far or a little further the first day.
Thanks in advance.
