I'll be in Tampa at the end of July for a work conference and am thinking about bringing the wife with me the weekend before to relax and hopefully get out on the water for some snook, tarpon, reds and whatever else.

It sounds like Siesta Key is a Greta place to stay but I am pretty flexible. I have not been to Tampa since I was a kid and don't really know much about the area.

Looking for something close to or on the beach. Any recommendations for a fishing guide and/or hotels would be greatly appreciated!

I've used Jason multiple times, mostly for tarpon (May & June) , but he is a great all around guide. Works hard, knows the area and techniques for the seasons. I fish with guides multiple times a year all over the world and he is excellent.

Fished with Jason this week based off of this recommendation. Had a great time, Jason is fantastic and worked nonstop.

I took my two 6 and under boys and he was great with them.
