Hey OBers. No new pictures last night. Not even coyotes, so I left the camera out just in case. I'm looking for another kill, but I have to deal with my cows too.

Just wanted to take the time to say thanks to those that said nice things about my pictures and the story they told. I really enjoy getting them, and it is a lot of fun to share them with people that appreciate the wildlife.

If anything new comes up, the OB will be the first to know.

Yeah dude, those deer know who's the real threat to their existence. You play by some rules. Lesser of two evils.

Awesome thread. Thanks!

This will be my last update to this thread. Nothing on the cameras for 2 nights. Pulled the cameras this morning. Ordered 2 new ones last night, of course the ones I decided I want are backordered. It rained here yesterday, so everything is a muddy mess.

I ran up the creek to get the cameras and see if there was anything going on while it was still frozen this morning. There are deer back on the ridge where the kill took place. Thinking she moved on. These were on the next ridge east.

Yes, they stopped 80 yards from the truck and looked at me. Yes, one of them had the new regs in his hoof.

I got some pictures a couple of years ago of a kill that the mom and 2 big kittens were feeding on. I think it was 2 night till it started to smell and the bear showed up. The cats left.

Not to derail your awesome thread, but I'm pretty excited to get after a bear this year. Put in for a tag over in the general area, we'll see if I'm fortunate to draw.

And thanks for the great cat thread.

Well boys and girls- the bar has been set for 2018. Have fun trying to top this one, OB folks

This thread is great, but if your bear neighbors decide they want to catch the Sweet Sixteen, that tv watching bear incident you had last year was a hair-raiser. Everytime I saw the Johnsonville sausage commercial, I kept picturing Joe & family sitting on the sofa with a bear watching sports.
Ha ha ha!!! Had some family in town last week, and they were asking me about that story, while sitting on the couch where the bear came in. I simple said "look to your left", and they turned to see the scratches in the couch and punctures in the screen that are still there. They didn't want to sit on that could anymore for some reason...

If we don't have a pretty wet spring, I'm worried we may be in for more of the same. It has been a CRAZY dry winter. We had very little food in the mountains last summer, might be even less this year, which makes for more desperate bears (in my uneducated opinion). I will be much better prepared this time around though, so hopefully not as many shenanigans. Hopefully I don't have to declare war on any bears this year- didn't work out too well for the ole boar last year. ha ha!

I've got a neighbor down the road who likes to be a PIA, because, I guess, he is pissed that other people had the audacity to buy/build homes on HIS street. Maybe I will set up a trail camera in his yard and burry some jars of peanut butter and dead fish... Maybe I will get some trail cam pics to rival Brad's

Bear tags here are a dime a dozen. Are you willing to hide in a dumpster? To kill s bear?

No, I'm not.

I doubt I end up taking a shot, more about taking advantage of the opportunity to be afield since I have residency this year.
