OK all knowing OB, given the following parameters what 22 rifle/scope would you get? Doesn't have to be the cheapest thing ever but don't go crazy on me.

1. Competition will be held at 50 yards and will be shot from a bench. Bipods and rear rests are allowed.
2. Round of Shooting: 15 minutes
a. 1 cold bore shot. Max Score 10.
b. 25 shots on 25 targets. Max Score 250 - 25X.
c. "Fun" Target. Could require up to 15 shots. Target/rules explained at time to compete.

Also, why does it seem 10/22s are just as common as bolt 22s at competitions like this? Is there less of a difference between bolts and semi autos in rimfires than centerfire?

If precision oriented, is probably go with one of the Savage hbar bolt guns, cz bolt gun, or dig around and find a Remington 541t... Won a lot of comps with that 541. As to scope, loving that vx-freedom rimfire

Couldn't tell ya, the gun club I'm looking at joining when I PCS hosts matches every 2nd Saturday. I copied everything in the OP they have listed online.

The max of 250-25x makes me assume NRA smallbore though.

I did, tempting for sure but probably looking to buy sometime this fall once I have a real paycheck

ETA can you run a bipod with that stock? looks like it would be awkward at best.

Negative on the bipod. It's a standing/silhouette stock.

Next time dad comes down, I will have him bring my 541. Still my favorite target gun. Well, it and my 540xr. They are hard to find but be on the look out. Great freaking guns.

Looked at Savage and CZ and these two sorta jumped out

Will keep an eye out for an old Rem though.

That Savage would be good. I'd more than likely is end up with this cz:

It feels really good finally being able to say that I would be looking at something more old school and less crazy.

Yeah I definitely wouldn't mind a wood stock but would love to be able to have a factory threaded barrel

Apparently Tikka is getting into the rimfire game too

If purely a target gun, I want a target crown. But, if multi use, definitely see the appeal for threaded. Tikka rimfire would be interesting as well

Another savage option but damn that's an ugly stock

Actually meant to post the suppressor ready, target mark II a minute ago.

Though I do think the target crown is definitely worth weighing against being able to run a suppressor.

I have the luxury of not really caring about multi use guns, so keep that in mind. I'm about to build a second 10/22 specifically for suppressor use.

The fiance was on the pistol team too, likes guns, and will be making far more than my measly .mil salary with her master's degree. I'll let her cover the one for a suppressor

Have the FVSR with a Bushnell AR-22 scope, and it's very accurate with CCI standard velo's. Stock leaves something to be desired, but if it bothers you enough, Boyd's has a few options for replacement.
