I'm thinking of a hunter and crocs. I'm thinking an island with a large moat. Everything has to swim the large body of water to get to the island past the crocs except the birds...the island is small and dependable from the center because of the steep hill (like crater lake) but smaller to allow hunter to shoot 360 without adjusting position. I'll take my chances.

Do you control and direct the animals (ie. Sci-fi stuff), or are they placed and they react as animals would (10K coordinated sewer rats working together like a swarm of ants is scary to think about).

Is the hunter limited to 'hunting' weapons? Bolt-guns, shotguns, etc.? AR? Still have to reload. See coordinated rat-swarm scenario above.

My first instinct is to own the sky with the Eagles. 50 eagles attacking from above would be horrific.
I would then take the Silverbacks. This Offers superior speed and strength with the ability to problem solve. The silverbacks ability to grab, hold, or throw is also valuable. Both animals are
Highly versitile.

The terrain would be a jungle. The silverback could own the ground with ability to climb and jump. The eagles own the trees and sky. Plus the jungle would lend plenty of opportunity to make a weapon. Easy to hide and find water and food in a jungle.

These are mice. Not big-a** swamp rats. At the one minute mark, think about these little monsters coming at you with the intent of turning you into a skeleton in minutes

Rats and hunter is the correct answer.

It says a fight, so it dictates that you'd have some control over the animals. 10,000 rats can overtake any of the others except the eagles. The hunter takes care of the eagles.

The birds represent a large challenge.

On one hand, they can be lethal to you and are hard to defend. But they aren't that much help as defense against many of the other predators.

In my scenario - rats and a hunter, the biggest risk to take me out is probably the birds

I am asssuming the hunter could have multiple guns, so inclusive of a shotgun (birds flying) and a riffle to finish the large predators slowed by the rats.

If the hunter can only have one gun, I think my scenario falls apart. He may hold off the 50 eagles but one of the wolves evades the damn rat army and I'm fooked.

That just leaves 44 other animals to worry about if you have rats and hunter. 10000 rats divided by 44 other animals = 227 rats per animal. Less rats for wolves leaves you 300-400 rats per other animal (hunter focuses on eagles).

Let's say 100 rats per wolf. That's 293 rats per other animal. I'm sorry, but a couple hundred rats can take out most things.

For the slower animals, no doubt. But could they catch all the wolves and lions?

They wouldn't have to. They'd just have to wait for them.

I would take the 10,000 Rats and the hunter from inside a concrete reinforced pill box with steel screening (you know to keep the birds out). As mentioned, with that many rats that is just shy of 300 rats per enemy animal to distract and confuse said attacking animal. As hunter slowly picks off each attacking animal, the rats will coordinate and shift their focus on remaining enemy animals. With each animal kill the rats would gain strength in their numbers per animal. Now I would likely expect at least 10% rat losses in the first 15 minutes of fighting and would expect the hunter to average at least 1 kill shot per minute of shooting. With reloading time, I would expect all large animals to be defeated in 1 Hour. The rats would then become the bait for shooting the remaining eagles. At this point I would expect no more than 30% rat losses, leaving plenty to be sacrificed as eagle bait. Estimated total fight time, 2 hours 10 minutes.

Me and the hunter/ammo in space suits on the moon. Add in the rats, because they can probably survive without oxygen the longest.

It's a theoretical thing pitting animals against other animals. Have you not read the entire thread?

Is the assumption that you're out in the open to start? If so, you have to pick the hunter.

If you are able to hide from the hunter's shot at the start, rats and hawks are the correct answer. 50 hawks could very easily take out the hunter from the start and provide aerial assault while the rats swarm everything else. It wouldn't be a contest.

I'm going wolves and bears for offense and defense. I'll find the hunter ASAP, then we all cruise to victory.

I've seen this and thought about doubling up on the rats and unleashing a swarm of 20,000 rats on my enemies.
But the hunter with a rifle scares me. He could shoot me from a distance before the rats could reach him.
So I'll take the rats and the raptors (hawks and eagles). The aerial surveillance would locate the hunter at a greater distance and they could harass the hunter and give the rats time to attack.

The swarm of rats just seems like an unbeatable force.

This could make for a really interesting faux-game show!

10,000 rats is ALOT of rats, average weight of a brown rat is 10 oz; 10,000 of them is 6,250 lbs.

That's gonna out weigh anything else on the list.

7 water buffalo would weigh more than that.

Quote:

The water buffalo is the largest bovine. It is 8 to 9 feet (2.4 to 2.7 meters) from head to rump with its tail adding an extra 2 to 3.3 feet (60 to 100 centimeters). They weigh a massive 1,500 to 2,650 lbs. (700 to 1,200 kilograms). The African buffalo is smaller, but they are still quite impressive in size. They are 4.26 to 4.92 feet long (130 to 150 cm) from head to hoof and weigh 935 to 1,910 lbs. (425 to 870 kg).

No ***** Fing google. It listed the Kgs and not lbs I guess.

I was like, ok seems a little off (700-1,200) but alright.

Anyways, ok. So water buffalo. And I guess big Nile Crocs are gonna weigh a ton, I don't think gators are gonna be 1,000 + each unless they are unrealistically MASSIVE.

The rats would defiantly F things up. But...

Always looking for a use for a paracord bracelet, but never want to take it apart because I know I could never put it back together. However, this is life and death.

Use bracelet to make harness attached to you and 50 eagles. And you are the hunter, and the eagles can help hold extra mags. Then you just let it rain.

Gorillas and rats. Speed and power. As stated, the swarm of rats is really difficult to deal with. Silverbacks are intelligent, have insane power and endurance, and will eff **** up.

Y'all are ignoring the most important part: terrain. I think I go urban to take them out of their element. Sixty feet up in a skyscraper and most of the animals would have no way up. I take the hunter up with me and put the rats at ground level.
