Not a pilot but I've logged 100's of hours growing up with my dad through ground school, touch and gos, and progressing from a 152 to a Commander.
Learning to fly will not save YOU time, money, or hassles, only your passengers.
I've flown in a small single engine Cessna from Dallas to Las Vegas and the only way I can describe it... have you ever ridden in an old International Scout with bad suspension and A/C for a 6 hour trip?
Now the Commander is a different story but that was 10 years and a ton of money later.
You have to want to learn to fly because you love it because if you add it all up it's not going to save you time or money.
