You missed the really fun day this past December when it was -27* when we hit the first field. ...needless to say the birds held very tight that morning.
If it's real cold I'll wear a merino base layer (preferably a 1/4 zip with a hood), then a heavier merino layer. Then a "puffy" layer, then a windproof shell.reddog90 said:
I got my guide jacket and I like it a lot so far. I have a question about layering:
If it's real cold, do you guys layer their ultra merino 145 as a base layer, then a 210 layer over that, then something like a guide jacket as an outer layer? If so, how do I size these other layers? I got a large guide jacket. It seems to have a little room to layer underneath, but I don't want to feel like a marshmallow man or have a lot of excess fabric bunching up under the jacket.
Thanks. It's 30% off instead of 40% (for the ASAT that I want). They do have a a couple of pieces in my size, but I think I've already decided to be a good boy financially (at least for today).arrow said:
Check Midway USA. Even better sale and seems to have better inventory than First Lite or S&S. I finally pulled the trigger on a Woodbury.
