If I remember correctly, Wed. was coupon day in the Batt. I'd grab about 10 papers per week -- or maybe just the coupons out of them if I could. I don't recall exactly how much, but the burgers at 3C BBQ were VERY good. There were several other similar coupons and plenty of pizza coupons.
On nights I wasn't doing anything, I'd take a lawn chair out to a car wash and offer to wash and dry (I had my own soap, mitts and towels) cars -- mostly for women. At first I think I asked for $3 or 4 but later, I just told them to pay me what they wanted and usually got $5. I only stayed a couple of hours but almost never came home with less than $15 or 20.
