How long do you want to ignore this user?
I made this for my dad about 25 years ago, with a handrail to help him in & out as he wasn't supposed to be climbing any more (doctors orders after he fell out of a Pecan tree and had no idea how it happened).

It is made 99% of free oilfield materials as the company I was working for at the time had an oilfield pump shop. The legs are plungers, the perimeter square is of pump barrels, almost all of the rod is valve rod or sucker rod, and even the steps was something free that I found.

About a month ago, I find this tower in the pasture, box blind is completely off, and one plunger leg is completely off, and at least six of the welds were cracked. The only thing I can figure is a bull got underneath it and then either panicked or just plain leaned on it too much. I never built it for that! Anyway it's back together, and I welded it a little bit stronger this time. It's time to work on the box part of it now.

Allen - posted a thread yesterday trying to get in touch with you to get your advice on a tractor and sprayer set up to up our game for mesquite control. You've posted pics of your rig in the past and I think it's what we may want to move to in the near future. If you'd be willing to talk offline let me know and I can post my info.

I'm thinking pics of a dude's rig may be better suited to the General Board.

Good stuff......I love old blinds like that. My old man was a shop teacher and would hawk the school trash dump and pull out any old lumber/pipe that was thrown away and would have the kids build blinds as school projects. The one I still hunt out of was made about 15 years ago.

It's really busy today.... hard to goof off on Texags.

Tower not for sale, it might even serve me in a few years when I am not supposed to climb any more.

Dr. Boogs..... I have a 55 gallon spot sprayer that is PTO powered from the tractor and 3 point mounted. The tractor is a John Deere model 990 that I originally purchased for other reasons. It turns out that it is just the right size to fit into tight spaces between mesquites but still be large enough not to break an axle on rocks and holes.

I foliar spray mesquites and fencelines with it heavily from May 20th through July, then I switch to much smaller things to "clean up" through September.

This winter I am going to do a little bit of cut stump method with Triclopyr and Diesel in a hand pump sprayer on some larger mesquites.
