I'm reading conflicting reports of whether more are needed or not. Anybody know where to check?

There is a website, like a Texags forum. Hold on and I'll find it.
Thanks, I'm in DFW, so I don't get that station, but I'll check with those cities.nimrodag99 said:
According to the new they are rescuing people in kingwood, baytown, missouri city, and on the back side of the resrvoirs. Watch channel 13
Yeah, I don't think you can even get to any of those neighborhoods. They were rescuing people near I45 and spring creek just south of the woodlands. They haven't been showing that today. try abc13.com if you want to stream local news.Texas 1836 said:Thanks, I'm in DFW, so I don't get that station, but I'll check with those cities.nimrodag99 said:

I am getting conflicting reports that help is needed, and that enough of the pros have showed up that it is not. I take it this is in different areas?

I have a friend who has been out on his surface drive duck boat assisting with rescues. He said that they have had to help at least three or four other boats who were trying to help but who had engine troubles or ran aground. Sounds like there are some people who, while well intentioned, should not have been out there trying to help.
I was considering taking my bass boat down there but talked to several folks and they said that even bass boats don't draft shallow enough...a lot of bass boats were getting stuck.normaleagle05 said:MousepadMarauder said:

Engine troubles and boating go hand in hand. And very few civilian boaters have much experience navigating flooded urban environments.
Not that there aren't inexperienced boaters trying to do good work. But many probably are getting it done.
While not good on the gel coat, I would hope that anybody operating a boat in those conditions would know to have that baby trimmed almost all the way up. I've rolled plenty of stumps in my boat...can't imagine a stop sign would be much worse (except for the gel coat). I hope to God there weren't idiots running on pad through there.normaleagle05 said:
Imagine running ANY boat onto the top of a stop sign.
