"Patented cooling system requiring no outside water"

You mean a radiator and electric fans?

That dude is nuts, but it looks like fun. That LS sounds awesome, even in a boat, but he's going to scare all the ducks and redfish off.

They are claiming it is pretty dang tough, but I am sure as hell that I would find a way to break it beyond repair...

It has a corvette engine inside it....

Looks like some cool engineering but vertical stumps might give it a fit getting stuck in that steering.

An airboat would do all that even more on dry land BUT hit the brush and make it. That's an amazing machine going through the trees and cracking those limbs. Like a huge go devil on steroids. Someone need a to buy one and offer rides....

Someone posted a screen shot on FB this morning of a reply to request for pricing. $175,000 - $225,000 depending if you choose 21' or 24', gas or diesel...

For that kinda money you'd think they could show us a video of it actually planing smoothly...

Watching at 1:55 in the video, my tailbone started to hurt.

an airboat will do that for about $70k except the brush. It's got a tower already built in and it's flats friendly( no prop or oil in the water) . I rode on one with a guide a couple of times. It's a blast. If you've never done it, it's a bucket list thing for sure. The engine was extremely quite which surprised me.

We literally drove up, saw the reds, stopped and caught them. They never knew we were there. He said the noise is all above water so it doesn't spook them. Wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it. Pretty cool.

With that said, if I had the cash laying around I'd like that shark or a big jet drive about 25' long. The power seems unbelievable.

When my wife and I vacationed in the everglades a few years ago I rented an airboat for 2 hours.

My god. The amount of fun I had in 2 hours was way beyond the stupid cheap rental prices.

this was my thinking. someone mated a boat and an airboat and slapped a big ol price tag on top

Does it piss anyone else off that he's purposely tearing up the vegetation?

The invasive vegetation that is choking out the swamps? I'm good with it.
AgLA06

I didn't know the trees were invasive.

Don't think willows are invasive but only 1 step above it. They choke out wetlands incredibly fast. They naturally die off and regrow in just a few seasons depending on river levels. You really cant hurt them.

They (willows) are also, in some areas, the best thing at holding soil together in riparian areas from erosion.

Morally reprehensible to tear up habitat like that

Also great at destroying levees.

People say a big issue with our bay fisheries are people burning the flats and leaving prop scaring all over them.
12f Mane
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Never heard that. Care to explain? Tree roots are typically an integral part of bank stabilization.
OnlyForNow

If the tree grows in the levee, and then goes from the water to the other side, it's a conduit for the water to flow out of the pond and through the levee disturbing the integrity of the levee.

That doesn't make any sense

The idea here is that the path of the roots from the water on one side to the downstream margin of the dam on the other side of a root system may provide an easier flow path than through the soil. This is mostly born out when a tree dies and the root material, previously atmosphere, starts decaying and returning, in large portion, to the atmosphere. This leaves a root shaped corridor from the water to the other side of the dam. This is not universal to trees in dams. But it does happen.

Ok. Simple explanation here.

Build an earthen dam or levee with water on one side. Then take a stick and poke it through from the water to clear out the ground on the other side.

Water will wick out of the ponded area along the stick. If and when the stick dies or is removed it is now a straw. Thus you may have levee or dam failure.

I wondered about that too. I don't know enough about that habitat.

I do know that an out of shape fatty used to be limited in the hills. Now all he needs is a four-wheeler. Yeah, different subject, but the same possibility of humans being able to go into areas that were previously undisturbed.

As a kayaker, I hate ****ing airboats.

As a man with a small streak of redneck in him, hell yeah!
