It was unreal how many ducks were there. Every hunt is a limit of drake mallards and if you want to stick around later you can pick up the rest of your bag with pintails. There operation is entirely about mallards though (and geese during the special season).
Mostly, it was just really awesome the variety of places you will hunt. They have flooded timber holes and flooded corn fields. It's amazing to watch the mallards light coming straight down on you in free fall.
The blinds are ridiculously overbuilt sunken condos. The guides are great and the lodge is nice enough. I'd say it's abouy as nice a duck service as there can be but I guess that's why the price is so high. We're headed back next year.
Also, we would grab a cooler of beer and park by the reserve next to the lodge. While we were there they said the biologist's most recent survey put 80,000 mallards in the area at that time. Angry bee hive looking thing.
