Hope cbr is doing ok. They said the river was louder than the tractors getting cows out. Our cousin got their cows out today from the first bend near valley lodge. They buried a 150 hp Case tractor with a full load of cattle in the trailer. Neighbor came with an even bigger tractor and 4 massive chains and pulled them all out.

I swear we need to have a damn BBQ in the Brazos bottom and swap stories about the last few years.

Thanks for thinking of us, we busted out of our bugout ranch today as the creek came down to about 3' of rushing water - then went to the brazos river bridge and were pleasantly surprised that the river wasn't worse than last year. Hitched a ride in a friends deuce and a half and went in to try to rescue the cattle - gave it the college try but couldn't get them yet. We got in and got to them with some hay but could not find a clear path to high ground. Hoping the river goes down tonight. Another foot and we can get to them.

It was a feeble effort by me, but my friends and neighbors that went in with me were seriously awesome.

On a brighter note, we were able to rescue a family with an infant in the deuce on our way out.

We Now have full body covereage in fireant bites, and the double zip lock bags failed on my key fob and wallet when we went under once with a calf. My sentimental 20 year old king ranch wallet is a goner, and I really grossed out the Burger King kid with that nasty ass $20 I slapped down on the counter on the way back.

That is really scary sticking a tractor in with a trailer full. Can't believe you were able to salvage that. Well done.

I'm in for a BBQ when this is done.

Please please please evacuate if told to do so, stay out of moving water, and be careful when you don't know what is in the water. My FIL just found out his cousin didn't get out and drowned.
