It's not that the wind is blowin', it is what the wind is blowin'.

Weather Channel pronunciations so far:
Nueces = "new ee says"
Pearland = "purland" I don't know how you screw that up, but young lady does every time
La Marque = "law markey"
It bugs me more than it should but, the news in Dallas can't pronounce Refugio correctly.
All vowels minus the r, yes?
Ruh-fear-e-o.

I'm honestly concerned about anyone in the area. Being on the "good" side of the storm unfortunately isn't going to buy you much more luck in dealing with all this.AgsMnn said:aggiespartan said:

It's the people north of there in the coast who said they were going to ride it who I'm worried about. We had a few on here. How can we do a check in on those that posted earlier?
Do we need another thread for check ins?
Or that certain roads are closed?ThatOneAg said:mazzag said:

There were no cars across that bridge earlier when I was watching the storm chasers. Maybe it's just telling people to stay off the roads.

Power is out at my office in CC and at my home in Portland. Means we will lose 3 freezers of food as well as a deep freeze at my dads with 3 Muleys in it.
**** THIS.
I spent all afternoon trying to convince my niece and her family to evacuate Corpus, to no avail. Her neighbor told her that he had lived there for over 30 years, and he had never been flooded. I can't reach her on her cell phone anymore.GunRangeGal said:

Local news just said that the eye wall was 12 miles out of port a. Is this ahead of schedule? I thought it wasn't hitting until late tonight for some reason.
It's possible that people are trying to conserve what power they have on their devices. Hope all is well them.VaultingChemist said:I spent all afternoon trying to convince my niece and her family to evacuate Corpus, to no avail.
