How newbie FEMA Director Long is up to the task at hand. For years, The Hubs bestie was a Colonel in the Army Rserves on Emergency Planning. Anytime anything threatened the state of Texas he would show up unannounced on our doorstep because he been deployed to Austin to coordinate the response. Always have the skinny.

He's retired, now. Out of the loop, although he did call today to say his old friends were very worried.

Camp Creek?

Already some rescue boats parked in the teex parking lot on hwy 6 just south of Fitch. I'm sure they're lined up parallel with the coast for miles ready to head south when needed. And hopefully not needed here in town.

Debating heading out from Katy to Dripping Sorings to pick up my moms generator and drive back tonight.

Too risky to be on the road? I'm 50/50 at this point.

We bought our own over fifteen years back. But I bought a new boat in February. It's my baby. Have to take care of it. Sadly, our trailer is being used for another boat at the moment, so can't take it out of the water, just need to get it out of the boat house and secured to the shore.

Yeah got it figured out. Got home and realized if water comes up this high, we've got a whole other set of issues

I understand if you are leery about connecting in light of recent events, but if you want to talk to someone with a place there for years I could figure out a way to facilitate that without ever having to talk to a texagser.

It's a small lake, give me the Lot number and I already have the directory to who owns it and their contact info. And yes, that works both ways. So, I'm trusting you and your friend. Camp Creek is mostly verrry verrry good people. Seldom have a true problem with them and we band together to help people out.

The Hubs rescued two people whose PWC was sinking in the main channel a few years back. Just happened to be on the dock and heard their screams for help. He fired up the boat and went after them while I called the Lake Patrolman. It's a nice hideaway being private and all.
