Poor mans way is just a large Brita filter and filling up all your Tupperware and other containers full of water now. I think I have at least 4-5 gallons worth of space in Tupperware alone. Bachelors life FTW!

Question? I'm about 40 miles northwest of BCS. Not worried about the ranch but have a house on a lake that floods. House will be fine, but concerned about our new pontoon boat. How many inches are realistic in Robertson County?

You'll get rain, but it will likely be in the 3"-4" range. Remember that these numbers are also over a 3 day period, not in a normal 24 hour period.aggiehawg said:

Thanks. The way the creeks drain into the lake, it usually takes 24 hours after a major rain before the lake floods anyway.
Guess I'm heading to the lake to take of the boat tomorrow.

Question for you amateur meteorologists. From what I have heard, forward motion is supposed to decrease which means that the storm churns up a lot of water in the Gulf. Any chance this churning lowers surface water temperatures so that the storm's intensity doesn't increase as much as predicted?
Got a brother in Rockport and I am grasping at any hope I can think of to believe that they don't suffer severe damage.

If it slows, it will grow stronger. The water in the Gulf is very warm. Additionally, they are predicting it will stall on or near the coast and sit for a few days.
