The WP-3 aircraft actually fly into the eye of the hurricane. They also have a G-IV that flies higher and drops instruments into the storms

looks like we are just getting the very outskirts of the dirty edge and then it will be much dissipated when it comes back through.

I was there! My friend and I ditched our 3rd deck tickets and walked right into the nice seats in the zone because the ticket takers gave no effs.

News just said there's a possibility of it being a cat 2 over Austin. No freaking way.

We were in our Zone seats with our feet propped up. Why we didn't move down I am not sure but DH is a rule follower.

Rita was still a Cat 1 over Bastrop when it came through. Cat 2 no way

I was there. That game was a lot closer than it should have been.

I remember during Rita at a grocery store in Austin people freaking out buying water, chips etc. Even all the generators in the stores were sold out they said.

We got the dry side of the storm and life went on...

This is also move in weekend for tu. Austin is going to be a major cluster.

Trying to get the kids and wife out of town from Portland so I can secure the house and ride this out.

Local scene is FUBAR. **** went downhill quick.

Dad left vacation early in padre to head to Indianola. Securing everything up but I don't think he is boarding windows still (not sure he can do that by himself anymore) I asked if he was bringing back his boat and he said nope just his brand new riding mower . Then headed home to cuero where I hope that doesn't turn into a disaster as well. We Just left HEB in New Braunfels and while busy with people prepping to be stuck home all weekend it wasn't horrific. Mr. Diesel is supposed to be guiding in Pearsall but not really sure the status of that either.

Because it's going to take me the rest of today to board up and secure and by that time I'm not going to be stuck on the highway with 300,000 other people. Been there before, no thanks.

Also-I went thru Bret which was Cat 3, so I know what to expect.

Not going to happen. Go to NHC wind forecast map.

Cuero is about 95 miles north of Port Aransas and 70 miles northwest of Port O'Connor. If it hit in between that general area as a Category 3, what would that mean for Cuero? Any need to board up windows?
