18Z HWRF 72-hour rainfall totals:



60" near Houston

Wife and young son riding it out north of El Campo. I'm stuck in Dallas until 9:30am then running home to join them. Feel terribly guilty and pissed off about work, but will soldier through.

Dad moving the cows from the Brazos bottom tomorrow morning. Super stressed out being away.

ETA: some of these outlier random models don't help to build confidence.

What are your companies doing as far as calling work off? Specifically Houstonians?

Being from Rockport this has my all attention. Figure my house might not be there when I get back

I've called it a half day for us (also work from home). Figured everyone would be as glued to this as I am and would need time to soak it all in and prepare with their family, even if it's not going to be horrible (we are in north Houston)

I'm in Freeport, and we're apparently still business as usual.

The totals are for Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Doesn't include Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.

I am in freeport and they already shut down my project for Friday and Monday.

I bet it turns into Tuesday and maybe wednesday too

Same here... We are getting cut loose at 2pm tomorrow. It is nice to be non-essential every now and then.

The interstate highways are shown on the map....I10, I35, and I45, which roughly frame the area of highest rainfall totals.

So it looks like they backed off on the rain some and shifted impact closer to corpus now

In Harvey time... exactly. 24 hrs ago strong indications had it headed to Mexico after landfall.

Yeah, I wrote a looooong post a little while ago talking about the last 24 hrs, models, wobbles, a few what nots... just deleted it.
By this point, no one is listening.
On one hand you understand the reluctance to heed advice as a most veer off, and you wasted effort.
On the other, there will be folks that wait too long, and have harrowing tales of how bad it was.
Not to mention those that put first responders in jeopardy.

Does anyone have an updated rain estimate map? I have been searching but can't seem to find one.

Drove to POC - got the boat and stuff. Helped Board the lodge. City was in panic mode. Speedy Stop was boarding up as were most houses. Many RV's and boats were still there at 4. Going to floating crap everywhere

Also on drive back must have seen at least 25+ RV's and boats on the side of the road with blown out tires.
