what do you have? what do you recommend? I personally am looking for a light (hopefully under $150) to mount on my build.

Any suggestions? Primarily would be using for hog/varmint hunting

For hog and varmint hunting I use this:

It's also available in a green version...

The Streamlight TLR-1 (HPL and HL) have worked well for me.

I also use a Streamlight TLR-1 Gamespotter on my AR. Green LED works like a champ on hogs.

You might consider an O-light Javelot M3XS. Should be in your price range or very close . I bought 1 a year or 2 back. It has a very tight beam and 3 or 4 output levels so you can use it around the house as well. I have several stream lights TLR etc. This Olight has enough power to help see through taller grass and in open hay field maybe even several hundred yards. You can make it shorter for 2 CR123 or longer for 3. Batteries. I set mine up with charger and am running 18650's which are rechargeable . Great light for hunting, only negative is it has a more yellow tint than bright white . But the best rail mounted light in this price range that I found.

I think I bought a kit which had charger, batteries maybe even the rail mount from Amazon. Sorry can't remember more.

I'm a big fan of the ergonomics of the Inforce WML. Get the WMLx for more lumens

Spend a few extra and get an elzetta mini cqb. Great lights. If you cant do that, go with a streamlight

TLR-2 with laser FTW. Just cowitness with your scope at 100 yards. If you miss, you'll have a hard time seeing through the smoke with your scope in the dark. Paint your target with the laser and blast away.

It really is that easy.

Anyone have experience with Fenix lights? Been seeing some good things on other sites. Was thinking about this kit

I'm interested to know you experience with it if you choose to go that route.

Get the most lumens with the tightest throw ...otherwise you will end up with 2 or 3 weapon mounted lights (like I did). The TLR's are great, the problem is even with magnified optics (4X), the range Is about 100 yards max under good conditions. If for pig hunting this is pretty limiting because when you see them at 100 yds or less, you get one shot and in no time you can't follow them. Add in thin tall grass or weeds and you will see how I need up with several lights.

Actually have one weapon mounted light that is 2000 lumens with very tight beam. Very heavy , long and bulky but it works. If uncle gunny' s light is 1200 lumens for $50 and has a tight throw, buy that. The TLR's are good for short distances, under good conditions. Try to get 1000 lumens, tight throw and hopefully rechargeable batteries .

One other tip.... There are lumens and there are OTF (out the front) lumens. OTF lumens should be compared when possible as some mfgs. Use lumens in their specs rather than OTF lumens. The LED might have 1000 lumens but if designed poorly you might only get 700 lumens out the front. Good luck!

I had a great Fenix light. I think it was a TK 40 or 42...old so I can't remember. Anyway it had a great throw was perfect but it went missing. Felix apparently stopped making that light, so I found the Olight which had similar specs and features I found that the lights with the larger heads had the greater and tighter throw. I think this kit would be nice but you might want to look at their other lights and compare beam patterns.
