OP, I say go for it man. Ultimately, it depends on your capability, and, assuming your self-analysis is accurate, you sound like you can handle it. Keep a journal and post pics for us later!

I'm jealous.

Got off the river and leg 1 of the trip is done. One of if not the craziest things I have ever done and i did not live a quiet youth to include being blown up by an IED and shot at in two countries! But I survived! There were some real high highs and some real low lows. I didn't start talking to myself much until the last couple days, so that was encouraging. A sat phone to check in with the wife for 5 minutes makes a huge difference. I'm cleaned up and relaxing right now in a "hotel" in a small village in the middle of nowhere Alaska (that amazingly has wifi). My bush pilot comes tomorrow to get me to a regional airport to start leg two.

I plan on putting together a long trip report with lots of pics when I am finished with this adventure. I'm just having a hard time sleeping, (I think I'm too warm and dry) so I thought I would check in on this thread and let everyone know I didn't go crazy.

I would suggest talking with your doctor and get some prescriptions filled. Like a antibiotic for an intestinal infection incase you get bad Diareea. and whatever drug the doc might agree you should have with you v

Very cool, look forward to the report. I take it you are not going to try out for Alone!

Sounds like two great trips. Unfortunately, any lone trip is much less safe than a trip with a buddy. After 15 years if camping with scouting then 54 years of family camping and hiking I've seen so many crazy or unexpected things happen.

Good Luck

That's hardcore and admirable. I'm afraid the max for me would be about a 1/2 day by myself.
