Fleas starting showing up on the mutt dog. Went to pet smart to get some treatments. I bought the Sentry Pro XFT mostly because of the cost. I bathed him in flea shampoo then came inside to apply the preventative treatment. I did a quick search to get some reviews on it and was floored at the number of reviews talking about how toxic it is. I'm not putting that s*** on my dog. I'm taking it back. How can that stuff be on the market?

Well, after that little venting, anyone recommend a good treatment?

There are many good ones now, but I never had an issue with Frontline. In 15 years of use, I found exactly 1 flea on two dogs. That one flea was dead when the dog jumped into the car on the way home from the park.

We tried the cheap brand this past spring. Didn't work at all, dogs had worst flea outbreak. Switched to the trifexis oral. Fleas were gone in 24 hrs.

Don't jack around with the over the counter crap. It doesn't work. Go to your vet and get the good stuff. Works immediately and keeps working. And I absolutely hate vets so this is saying something.
