Was crusing backroads in NE TX a few years after HS graduation with roughly 6-8 people in two different vehicles. We stopped to socialize near a grave site, "Daniel Boon" family grave. Anyway it's 11:00-12:00 at night and we hear this yell that sounds like a huge man going Ahhhhhhhhhhhh much like Arnold Schwarzenegger in Predator except it was much louder and lasted longer than any human could yell it went on for at least 10 solid seconds I'm guessing and then went silent. We all hauled ass and met up down the road a few miles, figured we were near a house and they had a recording or something.. Went back a few years later and everything near that site had been clear cut several hundred acres.. Their is no house or anything close.. I still wonder what in the Hell could have made that sound..

Man that is creepy...in all honesty it either sounds like a coyote or large cat/mountain lion in heat. Felines make some crazy ass noises...

Creepiest animal sound I ever heard was a blanking peacock.

Did they just happen to be recording when it happened? Or did they start recording after they heard one sound and those are the follow-up sounds they got on tape? Sounds like some guys screwing around in the woods to me.

They heard a few more prior to recording. That was my thought too, but he said its very very remote out there. No one around for miles. There's no power, being that it's up in the mountains.

Certainly no expert but I kinda thought it sounded like a hog.

I'm a certified non Sasquatch believer, but That sound will make you think twice about what lives in the woods.

Now we just need a clip of Ned Beatty squelling like a pig.

This isn't anywhere near the three sticks monument is it? Or near NF-6038?

I actually drove right through this area the other day taking the back roads from DFW to Springdale. Made a quick stop at Three Sticks too. Very remote and there was a big fire somewhere in the area and visibility was limited for a while due to all of the smoke. Wonder if the fire could have set the squatches into a breeding frenzy? I have to take a scout troop to camp up it that area this summer too. I'm gonna let them all listen to this recording to get fired up for camp.

Lets just say its someone F'ing with your BIL and friends. That's why I asked that question.

The craziest part if this was indeed true is how close it sounded. That is a very good audio recording. That thing sounds pissed no matter what it is. Did they say how far away they thought it was?

He said it was definitely above them. The cabin is in a valley surrounded by mountains. He said it was hard to tell what direction it was coming from but it was above them.

I'm with you. After listening to the clip, I thought I was for sure going to see a barrage of comments confirming it was a feral pig.

If I was really camping in a desolate place and heard that, t might was well yell "C-ya Later" or "Prepare to Fire" curse those are my two possible conclusions (or both)

The odds here heavily favor a buddy jacking with these guys. And very well done I'll add.

Sounds like that to me also. Though, I'd have likely bolted for the cabin as well. I'd have been tempted to get a spotlight on it though, since I'm the dummy that can't sleep if I dont solve a mystery.

Did it stop once they got in the cabin?

I think there could be something to the sightings and sounds and I won't just dismiss them. Anyone that goes into the woods at night in NE Texas, SE Oklahoma or SW Arkansas to "screw around" with people is an idiot considering the number of these folks that may be in the possession of loaded firearms. If there is something in the woods, they are easily more intelligent than these TV series guys that are supposedly looking for them.
