My latest project was installing some cabinets that were salvaged from a jobsite (they were going to be demoed and trashed), and installing them in my garage. Then had to rearrange and reorganize the garage.

Now I'm about to start building a good sized play house for my sister's kids. I'll take pic of the progress and post them here.

Replaced a poorly insulated garden window with Pella replacement window in our spare room (once an office, now a SCUBA/sundry room-closet). Will eventually get a safe and ammo storage.

Replacing 1,500 sq ft of carpet with laminate in my living areas and bedrooms. Had to bust out tile and thinset at the entry and pour some self leveling compound. I've installed 1/3 of the living area and the master closet working the last 2 weekends. Slow process for 1 guy who's never done it before. I also never realized just how out of square and not straight my walls are. Accounting for that is the worst part.

Buying a house. Once we're closed, I'm redoing the privacy fence, building a railing on the deck, some painting inside, and replacing all the windows in the house.

Been doing a little work on the pop up camper I bought at a garage sale for $300. Put a wood ceiling in, re-finished cabinets, and laid some new flooring. Gotta order some new canvas and it'll be good as new.

I've got $200 in materials and two days of work in it. Roof had hail damage. One leak that I fixed when I first got it. I bought some Bedliner material that I'll redo the roof myself with. That was another $100....speaking of, anyone have a hookup for a sandblaster or at a body shop?

I think the thread title needs to be projects, as in plural. lol

A "bar" made only from pallets. has a shelf made for displaying empty bottles (Texas Beers only, bottles are always changing when new beers come in)

The perpetual 1954 3100 project: (currently in a million pieces, but that number is going down slowly)

The latest addition, 1992 YJ : (currently has transfer case sitting on the garage floor awaiting a new seal)

Also recently re-configured exhaust on the dually and built a small "entertainment center" for the living room. I'll try to post pics later.

Barnes' fiction wasn't even in the same ballpark of Yuccaddo's reality.

I built a shelf for my office room. Decided would make something permanent that any future owners of my home could use. The room is a smaller bedroom, so it would be a kids room. So I'll mount it well, and paint it with trim paint to match the rest of the house. Crap, don't have any. You know, this would be a good time to fix those window sills the previous owners dog scratched all to hell, the doors too. Well if I'm going to do that, might as well repaint all the trim, it looks pretty rough anyway.

This of course leads to saying screw it, i'll repaint the walls too.

So fixing window sills I find a set of blinds thats broken and wont adjust for the angle. Oh yeah, I'd also forgotten about the ones taped up with medical tape cause the dog broke some slats. Got to thinking, the exisitng blinds don't stop enough light to keep the glare off the TV on fall afternoons when I'm watching football. Off to Lowes to buy new blinds.

Get into my guest bathroom and see some rust on the vanity light. Had hell taking it down, the builder didn't install a junction box (don't get me started...). Well come to think about it the lights in my master bath aren't handling the humidity well either. I'll replace them too. Off to Lowes to buy new fixtures. While I'm there I find a fixture that would be awesome over the kitchen table. So i buy it too. Of course this will require moving the box, because the builder didn't center the fixture correctly. Current one is a flush mount, not hanging so it's not as bid a deal.

Painting the baseboards I decide it'll be much easier if I pull the carpet in the bedrooms. Heck it's cheap builder grade band bland builder beige anyway and horribly tromped down. So grab the utility knife and cut it out 4 inches from the walls. New carpet will be getting quoted soon.

It occurs to me. The new light fixtures are bronze, and the rest of the house is brushed nickle. The new paint goes really well with the bronze. Oh, the local Southerlands has everything in the store 17% off for St. Patrick's day? New faucets and drawer pulls!

With this much bronze, I have that awe crap moment. All the doorknobs need to be swapped out. Off to Home Depot. (BTW, the nearest Lowes is 60 miles away. Trying to save some miles and use the Home Depot in Calallen, was a mistake.)

So I move on to paint the master bedroom, bath and closet... Recognize that I need to re-caulk the tub. Dig the old caulk out and find water damage. Tear that out and realize the damage is two fold. Partly because of the bad caulking job, but also because the surround wasn't properly done with a moisture barrier. The Jacuzzi tub and the surround is now being removed to make way for a walk in shower and new linen closet. -- The tub is being posted over on Home Improvement

DID I MENTION THE SHELF ISN'T finished yet? It's on sawhorses in the garage awaiting paint!!!

Not a home builder, but believe me, herding architects, builders, contractors, landscape architects and making extensive changes on the fly certainly qualifies as a 'project'. I have done a few remodels...I posted up pics of the Texas Dog Run house that I restored from a very poor state:

http://texags.com/forums/34/topics/2280868

and also the 'party house' that I remodeled that is 'nearly' next door to my current home. I also designed and built my first house back in 1978 that is out here, too, so I've done a few 'projects' but I am a retired oil and gas engineer and E&P company owner.

Aggie honor system. That's the rule. I did waste one night reading about that guy Barnes...what a moron. No kool aid here.

I was born in Bryan and live west of CS, FWIW. Graduated from A&M in '78 M.E.

Did a Euro mount of one of my Red Deer stags. I put the head in a mound of ants and let them do the work. Will post pics. I heard that using a pressure washer works pretty well after ample 'seasoning'.

Still need to finish the safe refinish - need to line the interior with felt, build and finish some shelves and maybe a drawer or two and finish the detail painting on the exterior.

My other project is finishing the beefing up of my FIL's little utility trailer. One of those TC lawnmower trailers, nothing fancy. It didnt have a tongue jack, so I welded one on the other day. Also picked up some 2"x2"x3/8" angle to add in a couple of areas, but first I need to cut the expanded metal deck off. I will replace that with some 5/4 treated deck boards to give a solid surface that will add a lot of stiffness and rigidity.

Working on my BBQ pit will likely be next, but I will need to get some gas for my mig welder for that job. Any excuse to get new tools. May pick up an aluminum gun as a package deal while I am at it.
