Still waiting on marching orders. I would guess just west of Beaumont spread out towards the Winnie area. But not sure. I will update when I know more.

I10 is shut down between Beaumont and Winnie both ways. Not sure exactly where. Also heard hwy 90 is shutdown coming from houston. Good luck to those headed this direction. Rainfall rates have slowed down in Beaumont and the water is slowly going down. Wouldn't take much to get it back up though. If you're looking for somewhere to help I would suggest Fannett, Hamshire, Winnie, Labelle.

I am very sorry to hear your house is flooding. From someone that flooded during Harvey and had to be evacuated by boat I can assure you it is not easy to go through.

Future radar is showing additional heavy rain coming through later today. We have a one story home and did not want to risk the possibility of having to go into the attic even though there was only a foot of water in our home on that Sunday afternoon.

If you feel the need to evacuate by boat today please do so. Human kindness is a wonderful thing and there will be volunteers coming by in boats to help evacuate neighborhoods.

Your home and furnishings are just "things". Your life is not. Good luck and please keep us updated.

Let me know if you need help. We are headed down and will have at least 8 air boats and several mud boats. We are still a couple hours out.
I-10 is a big fooking dam from west of Winnie to Beaumont. So north or uphill of I-10 floods the worst. Water has to drain thru or over the interstate. Over and thru today.

The interstate was originally built on piers where major creeks and bayous drain. When it was "improved", txdot took out the piers and put in box culverts which get stopped up with flood debris.

Since Harvey made this problem clear, texdot has been begged to fix this issue.
Get a rope.

I assume yall are coming in somewhere from the south? I don't think you can get there from any other direction.

Does anyone know of an area that needs help that you can actually get to? Packed and ready to go but don't want to spend a day driving around accomplishing nothing like we did the first day of Harvey.

The problem right now is that the storms just keep coming. I don't think it's safe to be out right now in the especially hard-hit areas.

Same story this go round. This pic is from my brother this morning on I-10 just west of Winnie. He's running an airboat out in that area now getting folks out.

Not trying to be a smartass. I think that's part of the problem. The areas that need the most help are hard to get to. You should be able to get somewhat close you'll just have to take backroads and may have to turn around and try a different route a time or two. I think if you could make your way to woodville and then head south on 287 you'd probably be good.

I'm in Beaumont. The water is higher than Harvey at my house. Water is currently on my front porch. Couple people in the neighborhood already have water in their houses.
You guys have had it beyond rough over the last few years, I really feel bad for how this constant flood after flood has hit that area.

The way TXDOT has opted to build those jersey barriers has frustrated me to no end. No relief ports for water to get through - all in the name of controlling traffic.

They raised SH35 a few years back down in my neck of the woods - basically created a 3 mile long 6 foot high dam for everything on the north side, which floods worse now and the water stays longer because it is restricted when the river finally does go down. Just lack of forethought, and apparently no urgency in fixing any of it even with the last 5 years of beatings and floods.

I'm sorry to hear what you guys are going through .

I know it's too costly, but maybe it's time to build I-10 similar to how Louisiana does over their bayous. An interstate should never be under water, if anything for evacuation and safety reasons.

Fingers crossed, knock on wood, whatever. No water in my house so far. Waters getting down to just where I can see the curb again. Oddly good feeling. Still not over, but the rain here is really light. Its giving my neighborhood a chance to drain in case we get hit again. Between midnight and 7 am we got about 10 inches of rain. Some areas around here got 14 and 18 in the same time period. We have pretty good drainage overall in beaumont, but that amount of rain in that short of a time was just too much.

Random 3" rain shower last night on the east side of Belmont, TX ... I'll take it. Nice to know it can still rain over an inch at one time, been a while.

To make this more outdoors related, I also shot a pig out the back door in the middle of the storm - hogs weren't waiting for the rain to stop to come and eat all the acorns that had been blown out. With my VZ out in the truck, all I had in the house was my M70 featherweight in 6.5x55... thought it would be louder than hell, but sounded like a .22 in the rain. I guess it makes sense that rain mitigates sound waves.

Cajun Navy zello feed said they were taking food and water to people still stranded on I-10 this morning. Pretty crappy to be stuck there that long. If the vehicles arent flooded they probably don't want people leaving their cars because itll make it that much harder to get it back open.

It was backed up for 10 plus miles. Lots of peoples stuff probably stuck there. Once they get this section is open the bigger problem will be the San Jacinto bridge in Houston.

Check out my personal facebook page. I've been posting a lot of videos and pictures I've been able to find. Lived in Winnie all my life and have never seen anything like this. Parents house didn't flood in Harvey, took 10 inches this time. My house/now rental house was built in 1976 and has never come close to water and had 2" inside.

Man, sorry to hear and see that. Can't imagine.

Good friends of mine's parents/inlaws live outside of Anahuac and Sour Lake. He owns a vet clinic, had to rush to get horses out as the waters started rising. I think all of his clinics ended up with some amount of water. The sister/brother-in-law in Sour Lake ended up with about 6 feet of water in their house. Total loss.

And they are just one of thousands in that same boat.

Someone in Seguin - enjoy all my wildflower seeds.

Gully washer in NB overnight.

Bad timing on my seeding. Hopefully the light rain that started around 7pm got some covered up before the big dump.

I be able to get the poles set before then. Using heavy former utility poles planting 3 feet down so not using concrete with them. Already got 5 set and have already settled in the ground nice and solid
