On the other side of the Gulf, Florida is in a 100 year drought. Central Florida finished April with the least rainfall since records began in 1897. Only 5 inches for the first four months. Hurricane Matthew was the last really significant rain for the state.

I've found that storm chasers sure do love their Twitter. They seem pretty geeked up for it not even being lunchtime yet about tornadoes in the Panhandle this evening. Looks like it's gonna get Western.

Just another May in the 806.

I mean, what else do they have to do right now while munching on some Whataburger?

Badly needed. Last rain we had was mid April and it was starting to act like a July pattern. Im worried this summer will be a dry blast furnace.

Some projections have us going through a 2011-type summer.

2011 is not likely. It did not rain at all the first five months of that year leading up to the heat wave/drought. Completely dry soil that year.

I said summer and that's just want the article said.

I know you said summer. But the late winter spring led to no water in the ground to buffer the heat starting summer. That moisture is critical to keeping temps down early June postponing high heat temps

Back of my 71 C10 with cover on. Do not have a rain gauge here at the house in Round Rock but looks like I could stock some fish in there. Catfish or talapia anyone?

not a bad idea but I would have to get creative to do that. And the results probably include mosquitoes.

I control pour it out by lowering the tailgate and then slowly pull the cover up from the cab to the back so its possible to capture.

Tornado and straight line winds >65mph at the farm in Wallis. Trees down and few barns down between ours and neighbors. It jumped us and went into Valley Lodge from best we can tell. Drought turned to floods and now to tornadoes.
