Yep. Tornado hit the highway according to some reports. Multiple 18 wheelers overturned and buildings damaged. Also reports Reason Creek is over the road. Nothing moving and I can't turn around.

Send help, I'm surrounded!



This is the 5th band of storms of this size we've gotten today.

Finally checked my rain gauge.

It holds 5 1/2". It overflowed so I have no idea how much I got.

Grimes / Madison county line off FM 39.

Oh yeah, the Vandy Whistler is seriously annoying.

Looks like 6 is completely impassible @ beason Creek. Anyone know if 105 & 249 are open? Water's still rising fast.

105 in the Conroe area has water in several places.

1488@ 2978 has water. Friend is stranded in Target waiting to be able to get to their house.

Txdot's website says 6 is closed for 4 days between Navasota and Hempstead. I hope they turned around and shacked up at the nearest Motel 6. Storms continue to train across that stretch.

Mice moving across the road here. Water as far as I can see. Good luck to your wife. Looks like at least someone is able to turn around up there somewhere.

Where is it closed? I had plans in Bryan this weekend and need to know how to detour.

So I can't take 290 to 21 tomorrow after work to detour away from 6? Maybe 105 to 6?

105 is flooded too right now. Not sure if it will be open tomorrow.

ETA 290 itself will probably be open, but 6 is a no-no. Not sure on 21.

Check drivetexas.org tomorrow. Storms are training, hard to tell what will go down v. what won't right now. Tons of rain on saturated ground across the entire area.

Found a turnaround that wasn't underwater. It's open from Grassy Creek northwards but southbound is closed. Everything is closed south of that. Unless you have a boat.

I may just delay my trip to the water goes down so I don't have to take creative scenic routes.

I tried one of those around 5:45 and ended up trying to ford Navasota. It didn't go so well even in my truck.

It took me just under 5 hours to get from CS to Houston. Started heading south on 6 until i got to Navasota. After seeing the HWY at a complete standstill I exited and tried 105, that did not work. I then tried heading west and it was also flooded. Turned around and started heading north on 6 were I tried 90 to Anderson, also flooded. Finally went all the way back to CS over to Huntsville on 30 and down to Houston on 45. Really interesting trip. Had radar scope on the whole time trying to avoid as much as I could.

At one point it was 200 yards from my wife and kids at Allen Academy. Everyone be careful out there.

Because of all the rain Lake Somerville is closed again. Last I saw it is 16ft above full pool, 4 ft from getting over the spill way for 3rd time in history (2nd was last year)
