There was a tornado in The Woodlands Sunday morning in Grogans Mill. It sure raises the pucker factor for tonight's storm.

Got this text from mom in Concan, "6 people spent the night Sat. With a body of one of their friends that drowned til they were rescued Sunday morning by chopper. They were caught on an island by rising waters. "

At 7 bluffs.

Just drove from southside of Lake Travis back to Sugar Land late this afternoon. We were caught in the storm that hit Bastrop, but made it through before 71 was closed. Some of the worst rain (and wind) I have ever driven in. Were about 10 minutes behind my sister on Bee CreeK road at the start of the trip. Had to turn around at a low water crossing and find another way out. Flood gauge showed 2 ft of water rushing over the road. When we called her, she said there was no water on the road when they went through. Pretty scary....

The theme song for Bastrop State Park is

"I've seen fire, I've seen rain"

In Hays County near Austin, up to 400 homes have washed away. "We do have whole streets that have maybe one or two houses left on them, and the rest are just slabs," said Kharley Smith, emergency management coordinator.

More than 1,000 more homes were damaged, and waters washed two main bridges away in Hays.

While flood warnings and watches were winding down in most places overnight, a new flood watch loomed from Monday into early Tuesday for Hays County.

Street in front of our place just south of I-10 is flooded with at least 2 cars in it. Rummel Creek just west of us is out of its banks per the flood control gauge. If it keeps raining like this the intersection of Sam Houston and I-10 will be underwater soon if it's not already.

Not sure I'd believe that. If that's the case the heights would be almost completely underwater.

If you check the gauges On the website above white oak is out of its banks in the heights.

Beeville and central bee county (granted, I'm there only one of y'all here) was tornado warned. One good short cell with wind, rain, and hail. Possible funnel cloud spotted south of town.

It's lulled now, but another cell is moving in from George west area.

Just repeating what the national weather service said. Not sure if true.... But absolutely possible given the circumstances.
