Is 71 closed between Austin and Bastrop or on the other side of Bastrop?

West of Bastrop in the Cedar Creek area is what I was told

Not first hand, but looking at google maps, this would be on the other side of Bastrop.

Guadalupe below canyon is fine, above the lake was close to 98 levels Saturday night

My weather channel app shows rotation in storms in red, hail in blue etc. There is a tornado warning for conroe.

The line that came through BCS had decent rain, but was not nearly as exciting as forecast. A little noisy, some outages from lightning, but negligible wind. Enjoy the 1-2 in. of rain.
A 'radar indicated" tornado passed over us and barely rustled the trees. Our problem was absolute saturation of the area, there was no where for that 1-2 inches to go. Expect some street flooding and the low lying areas.

Yeah, we're about 5 minutes east of there and the sky is basically just staying lit up.

From what I can tell, there was a strong storm moving from S to N that merged with line moving W to E on top of the Woodlands. Generally a good indicator of a rotation location.

Can't link but look at TPWD facebook. They have vidya of the washed out dam at Bastrop.

Got tornado warning about 8pm in Magnolia. Apparently (but not confirmed) tornadoes were spotted in Dobbin and Pinehurst.

Just getting a crap load of rain now with multiple flash flood warnings.

That's the warning/rotation I saw. Could never find any confirmation of anything.

Which app is that? I have the TWC Max app and best I can tell it doesn't show that.

Hwy 71 is closed just east of Bastrop at Tahitian Village (the most eastern Walgreens and Tiger Tote Exxon) because of anticipation of flooding from creek that was dammed up at Bastrop State Park. That creek flows downstream to Hwy 71.

They were routing people through Tahitian Village which goes right by the Colorado River. I wouldn't go that way if I were you. just saying. Coming from Austin I would turn left at that light, go past the Bastrop State Park entrance, get on 21 and you're good.

It's the actual The Weather Channel app for my Samsung Galaxy. Wife has an iPhone 6 with same app and it doesn't show the detail mine does.

We sent my coworker north on 21 to 290 then over to 77 south. But last I heard 21 between Bastrop and Paige was beginning to flood on low water crossings.

Waze App is the best for real travel updates.
