Estimated 350 homes under water in Wimberely. Over 60 swift water rescues taken place. First numbers coming out and this is just in the Wimberely area. Evacuation areas are at full capacity. People need many prayers right now.

On the Blanco it is. At least 7' higher than the previous record set in 1929.

Bad times... that one must have hit the Guadalupe more then the Blanco watershed, but I think that one eroded the road up from 5 Mile Dam enough force it to be rerouted 100 yards or so. I'll be back in the area in December and it'll be interesting to see what's changed. There were some massive cypress trees uprooted downstream from Wimberly from the 1991-1992 flooding so I guess there will probably be more of the same.

I got a text from my uncle who is with my 97 yr old grandfather at his river house in Wimberley at midnight saying "EMERGENCY: 4' of water in house. We need help." Then another about 20 mins later saying "8' of water still rising. Trapped on 2nd floor. Help"

I'm not sure why they weren't calling 911 but I called Hays Co sheriff ofc and gave them the address and they said they were doing many rescues in that area. My uncles wife in Atlanta got a text from him at 2:52 this morning saying they were alright. But that's all we know right now.

Man I hope they're ok. That was one seriously crazy night down in that neck of the woods!!!

Yeah, the problem is that you would think that the flooding comes from the river but you're in the path of all the water trying to get to the river so it floods in your front door, then the river catches you from the back door. Hard to believe. Still very concerned.

The Guadalupe basin got hammered. The park in Victoria is underwater and looks like it is going to get much worse before it gets better. We had a heavy 2" here after midnight last night with more coming. Glad the lakes are filling up though

Thank you for your prayers. I just received another text simply saying: "Fire Dept. ladder."

So it sounds like they are ok. Praise God for his mercy.

I assume it was your uncle. He had the exact same story as you just told. Said his father was inside and in good spirits.

Just checked its levels again, it went from 12% to 26% capacity in the last 24 hrs. 31,000 up to 67,000 acre feet. That's amazing.

Unconfirmed reports that Mexico will be forced to open releases from NL and Coah reservoirs that could send a bunch of water into Amistad and Falcon. We need it. Both still just ~ 50%

Onion and other Spring crops in South Texas pretty much a complete loss
Now, watermelon crops pretty much looks like could be same story

Silver lining, I suppose, if those crops had been normal production the current market situation may have resulted in extremely low prices anyway. Heavy production in competing areas depressed prices. Tough times this production year in S Texas on just about all fruits and veg

Wonka glad to hear they're okay!

Texoma started over the spillway some time after 0200. Flood control pool is at 102%.

Just got off work, drove home on 82 between Whitesboro and Bells. Every creek along the way is waaaay outside its banks, and a couple were very close to the highway. There were some local road closures, little secondary back roads, but nothing major.

This is nuts. I'm so glad for the rain, but I sure wish it had been spaced out a little better.

In aggiedata's pic, is that water putting down a stairway?
