Whoa! I need to ask my dad about the Leon. He lives near it, near Leon Junction. He didn't mention anything about the Leon getting out again.

It's still quite always from being out in Leon Junction. I just drove through there. Maybe a little more than 3/4 banks.

Good to know. Obviously being from Gatesville I keep up with the Leon when they get rain up North. Almost a precursor to what I might see down here a few days later in BCS.

What a commute from Kyle you Austin this morning.

Worst storm I have had to drive thru. 20 miles per hour until I got to Austin city limits.

Holy cow what a storm in SATX last night!! I received about 3" in the gauge between 230a and now. Lightning was crazy. Worst electrical storm that I have seen in a while.

We've had close to 0.5" in the past 30 minutes or so in Cedar Park. Current rainfall rate is 2"/hr

Didn't sleep once it started around 2 am. Seeing it blow in yesterday evening was interesting too.

The Metroplex, North/NW Houston and Brenham would like to welcome you to our 2016 pool party. Did you bring your floaties?

Dad said the Leon was bank-full, but not out of the banks. It won't take much. Our ranch is at Leon Junction. Lake Belton is high, but not near full - it takes a LOT of water to get that last 5 or 6 feet in. They don't dare let any out that will add to the Brazos problems.

Dad said it was still in-bank at Leon Junction yesterday morning. Then again, he might not have left the house yet to do his morning ranch drive.

I drive over the Belton Dam every morning and it is probably 6-8 feet from its high point last year. And you are right they are letting nothing out.

I don't know what shape Stillbouse is in, but I'm betting Nolan Creek and Salado Creek are adding plenty to the Little River and Brazos already without the Lampassas and Leon adding to the problem

Wife said driving around north of Houston was tough last night. Lots of street flooding. Fortunately she was in the 3/4 ton with a bit of clearance.

How bad in it in Brenham? There a chance I may head out there to do some ranch work.

I think Belton is "full"

It isn't to the spillway or anything but it is full.

Well, if you have brass balls, there will be some epic whitewater kayaking from these central Texas spillways for a few weeks.

Most lakes are considered "full" at the conservation pool level which is below the spillway by a good bit. Anything above the conservation pool is into flood stage on the lake.

Has there ever been a time that Texas was completely drought-free? Getting close.

You can go to water data website or coe website to get lake levels and release info. right now neither Belton ir stillhouse are releasing. Last I checked stilkhouse is about 12 feet high which is about 20% of flood pool capacity which is when it would go over spillway. I think in 2007 floods it was 30+ feet up.

To add to this,

Stillhouse Hollow is at 634.74
Conservation pool is 622.0 ft
Spillway crest is 666 ft
Top of dam is 698 ft

I'm sure they're really hoping to not have to release anything from either lake with the rivers in the condition they're in.

Not there but think Brenham only got an inch yesterday.

drivetexas.org shows a few roads still closed in around the area. 50 is finally open both ways. They were having to bring in food and water and meds to Clay by boat for a couple of days.
