In the Delta airlines crash referenced above, they flew into one side of a microburst, then out the other side. SO even if it had been a mild burst of say, 35mph, they went from a 35mph headwind, to a 35mph tailwind. A delta of 70mph almost instantly.
Not like a tornado. A tornado has rotation.
Micro and macrobursts are the same thing, it's a macroburst if it's greater than 4km in diameter.
never heard of the Delta 191 Microburst. The one that i remember is the Dallas Cowboys one

I remember reading a story about an Aggie on the plane sliding down the wing and getting his Aggie ring snagged on a piece of metal.
One of my classmates was on the highway stuck in traffic and saw the plane hit cars in front of her. Can you imagine? Powerful storms. I remember taking off weeks later and still seeing the crash site.
