I was flipping through Bass Pro Shop's Spring Classic flier this morning. My intentions were to use their reel trade-in this year to add another Abu Garcia Revo S to my line-up. The flier has BPS Pro Qualifier reels listed for $50. That is a great deal on an excellent reel.

In-store only, 2/6-2/15.

Not bad. The H2O mettle at 30 is a better buy when academy runs specials.

I have no experience with H20 reels but have heard good things. Mainly on this forum. I've used a Pro Qualifier for 3 years now without any problems. It's available in four different gear ratios and has a dual braking system which works well. I might have to pick up a 4.7:1 and see how well it cranks. I have the 6.4:1 which makes a great all-around for someone who's just starting out.

that PQ is just a Revo gen II with a plastic gear side cover, cheaper drag washers, and a slightly less fancy spool. Actually not bad for $100.

Open one up vs. a Revo/Pflueger/Johnny Morris/Lews and you'll see many of the EXACT same internal parts.

If you buy a Mettle, keep your receipt. If it goes bad you can return it for a new one.

Chances are if you take it to a shop for repairs your repair guy won't be able to get parts for it.

I've relegated mine for freshwater use.

In store only. Boooooooo. Cost me almost as much to drive to the closest bass pro.

At $30 it's not really cost effective to fix anyway

Are they down to $30 these days? That is a great price.

I think I originally paid $50.
