Latest addition. 12" 300 BLK from Runner Runner.

After replacing about half the parts, here is my final product from the first rifle I ordered. I would NEVER order a completed rifle again. For anyone wanting to get their first AR, I would highly suggest you build one. It would be much cheaper than doing what I did. Oh well, I am very happy with how it turned out.

Stripped upper, lower, and muzzle brake from Dreadnaught Industries right down the road in Von Ormy, Midwest Industries hand guard and and topped with a Vortex red dot from EyeGuy who was helpful and very fast with shipping. Looking forward to doing more business with him.

Don't know if I've done it right or wrong but I've been piecing this together for about 6 months now with PSA parts. It is shoot able now so I plan to take it our this weekend and see if I like it.

My first semi-auto rifle ever.

Broke in a new rifle last weekend on a piggy shoot. Had a few feed issues while I was tuning the gas system, but worked just fine when it counted in the back seat of a robinson 44.

Thread protector for now, my shop guys didn't have a 30cal brake that wasn't already paired to a can available the last time I was there.

My brake will be outside the forend. My threads stick out about 1/4" and are half exposed. With the Saker QD brake I'll have the brake outside the forend, but also keep a nice tidy 1/4" of clearance between the can and forend. I've seen similar goof ups and wanted no part of one. My shop guys and I swapped forends around for about an hour before we got the right spacing. Thanks for the word of caution though, for someone who wasn't knowledgable that would be a pricey/dangerous mistake to make.

Thanks. I found it on fun broker for about 1400. Anywhere else I've seen they go for more than that. According to the website it weighs 7.1 lbs with the backup sights and no mag. It might be my favorite gun that I've owned or shot, civilian side anyways

Meager funds... That appears to be a trijicon setup, which alone is easily the cost of multiple AR's.

It is. The ACOG I traded from a savage 10 I won in a $100 dollar rifle. The Doctor red dot on it.....yeah I shudder to think what I spent on that. Doctor went kaput and their supplies in the States dissappeared. After two days of searching I found eight of them. All overseas. So with import from Germany that little red dot cost me about $450. At the time though there were pretty much the only ones doing a red dot with the trijicon. The RMR didn't exist yet. I still believe the Doctor sight to be superior to everything...but maybe not $450 superior....that was nearly all of my Tax refund that year and an impulse buy. Had one in the service and I got all nostalgic over it.


Edit: welp....for curiosity sake I Googled DOCTOR and lo and behold they have a US division up and running. I swear it didn't exist back when I bought mine. Still a great red dot though.

And just saw the prices for the RMRs. Seems my 450 was a good deal after all! Been a loooong time since I shopped for red dots of that size.
