Anyone have any suggestions on where to put in at Lake Conroe where I could fish from a Kayak? I was thinking just south of the 1375 bridge on the north side.

On memorial day weekend you would be crazy, that lake will be a mad house.

The weather is just good enough for every idiot with a boat who takes it out twice a year to be on the water. I suggest just grabbing a chair, umbrella, a cooler full of cold ones and just sitting at the boat ramp enjoying the show.

You'd have to pay me to be on the water this weekend with all the idiots who don't know how to operate a boat.

What he said. Less room for the morons to get up speed up on the north end, and lots of stumps.

Thanks guys, that's what I'm looking for. I know Conroe isn't ideal for a kayak but wanted to get out without going too far from home.

Shoot, Cagle is so far north you won't see anyone dumb enough with IB/OB setups...maybe...

Round the corner and head N and you'll be fine, save for occasional Astro's (sup) that know the lake well enough to be up there.

I launch my IB at Cagle sometimes though and head across the lake to the cove on the other side. You'll see a few people over there running ski boats, but it is primarily the people who know what the heck they are doing and are respectful.

there are definitely no weekend warriors running inboards in that part of the lake.

Or just go a little further north up to Stubblefield.

RWV - thanks for the info on Stubblefield. We went 3 times this weekend and it was a perfect spot for kayaks.

My experience is there is NEVER anywhere that you won't see people dumb enough to at least make an attempt. Unfortunately like automobiles you only need money to buy a boat. Not brains.

True statement. Watching people at the boat ramp on Memorial or July 4th weekend is like a comedy show

Excellent way to spend a weekend. Grab a cooler and lawn chair. That is hours of entertainment right there.

We went to Cagle and fished just north. It was comical watching everyone jack knife the trailer on the way down the ramp.
