Emptied out my rain gauge yesterday afternoon when I got home, and by the time I left at 0615 this morning it was back up to 3" or so.

Rain started around 3 am. Dog woke me up around 4 am freaking out over lightening. My youngest daughter came in scared about 15 mins after that, my oldest came in about 15 mins after that, my youngest decided to puke about 0445. Great start to the morning.

Wife said it was still raining steady when she left about 0645 to drop the girls off and head to work, so it wouldn't shock me if we squeezed out another half inch or so. Drainage ditches were pretty much full to the brim the whole drive in to Houston. Some roads had 6" of water in low spots, and the bayous and storm ditches were running like the Niagra River.

We got about 4.5" from Sunday afternoon until yesterday whenever it stopped raining.

This morning it started raining about 3 as hard as I've ever seen it rain in my life. It finally slacked off around 345 and sounded like it had pretty much stopped by the time I finally got back to sleep shortly before 5. We got just over 2" in that 2 hours or so.

I emptied the gauge when I took the dog out around 715. As soon as I came back inside it started pouring. By the time that I left about 10 minutes later it had rained another .2" Seriously hard rain that came out of nowhere.
