Of course its easy when you have your field grade Purdey and have everything staked out with your Swarzovsky field glasses, you have your scotch ready in your Yeti cooler and don't have to break much of a sweat as your minions chase the birds down for you.

*I assume that's how rich boys hunt - at least it's how they show it for royalty and such in the movies

Heavy loads are twice as good. I get 2 birds/box with them...

Not very close....I would guess the next time will be just about like the last time. You step out of the truck wearing jeans and an old pair of light weight Rocky boots, old well worn TAG shirt...maybe a saltwater camo Yeti hat(Simms makes the best), strap on a three pocket game bag with two bottles of water for my minion Dot Z and a box of shells(usually red), hopefully find a good spot in the shade. Sit down and load up a Browning Light Twenty and enjoy the afternoon.

For our area, the influx of whitewings is a semi-game changer as to what is "best". Young mourning doves sliding in close to feed or checkout a Mojo...followed by a flock of whitewings seemingly 50+yds overhead.
Makes we want to have my 7/8oz 20's AND some 1-1/4oz 12's ready (and my gunhandler/caddy)

Faster is better. Most shooters miss behind the bird, faster loads make up for this most common failure. Lighter loads are faster and recoil less.

More shot only makes for a longer shot column which does you little good. Google Square Load and educate yourself.

Picked up a case of Winchester Super X heavy game 7.5's at Academy last night for $65. The only other option was Rio 8's. Is it just me or have shells gotten expensive?

They have gotten a lot more expensive. I remember the $6 box of Remington heavy dove was about $2.39 when I was still in school.

Price of lead is 5x higher than it was 10 years ago.
