I received a gift card for a new pair of Lucchese boots (Not Classics) for my birthday, but I could use a little bit of help narrowing down the choices (The selection can be overwhelming). I want to narrow it down to 2-3 styles before I go try some on in person.

What pair do you own, or what is your favorite? Again, it can't be the Classic collection, as I just don't want to spend that much.

The Classics are worth it. Just sayin'.

Square toe gator. Pricey (around $600) if I remember, but worth it. Also have round toe ostrich that I really enjoy too, got them used so I don't know what they are running new.

Square toe is acceptable for Max and those like her.

Mine are a little darker than these appear.

I bought the square toe smooth ostrich in black not long ago. I was disappointed in the soles - they are wearing quickly- and my heels wore in 4 months time. Handsome boots though.

I have 2 goat, 2 smooth ostrich, and 1 elk. The elk doesn't last as long as the others, you'll only get ~ 5 years from them but DAMN thay feel like warm butter. Absolutely the most comfortable boots I've ever had. The Goat and ostrich will last you a decade and you'll love them. I prefer roper or walking heel.

I love my Lucchese's. I wear them darn near everyday. I've got the half quill ostrich square toe. I've had the soles replaced 3 times and they are still going strong. They are extremely comfortable..

I have two pairs of 1883s. Narrow square toed black calf skin that I wear with suits and broad squared toed cow hide that i wear with jeans and khakis. Both are very comfortable and broke in quite quickly.

Some of us have square feet. Style ain't got nuthin' to do with it.

I couldn't believe how comfortable my Lucchese's were straight out of the box. I got the 1883 style in brown, traditional toe. They are great boots.

I have some 1883's...the Mad Dog Goat....im telling you its like wearing a glove/tennis shoe. They are worth every single penny.

If you are going to wear them a lot go Ostrich or Elephant. Gator, Croc Lizard are all reptiles and they need a lot more care due to the drying out of the leather. I wear Elephant nearly everyday and I can hose them off and they look great.

I agree with this statement. I think my original soles lasted about a year but since being resoled they have lasted much longer.

The heels on both my 1883s wore out within 3 months of daily wear. Had them rebuilt and they've been great for over 6 months now.

Square toed hippos... More comfortable than any tennis show I've ever worn!
