I could use some help, apparently I'm too old to use Google effectively.

I'm looking for a place to take my kids 2-6 yrs old horseback riding. Basically, just a 10 to 30 minute ride on a horse for the experience.

Every place I find turns out to be lessons or boarding or in the Hill Country. I don't mind going down there, but I'd rather it be close to Dallas.

dallas zoo, kids section. a couple of tokens to go in a circle.

of course you have already googled the equestrian type places that have lessons and therapy and the like. Is the thing that you only want to do it once?

Also there are groups that provide pony rides for birthday parties, don't have contact info though.

Yes. I've even sent an email to one hoping they could refer me to someone with no response and called one who was offended I'd even ask. I'm not sure why that was taboo.

Only once for right now. If they kids like it, we'll go back and ride again.

They've ridden ponies, but I want them to get to ride on a full sized horse and for longer than 1-2 minutes and for more than just in such a small area.

Thank you! An hour and a half is probably too long for kids my age, but hopefully they'll offer something shorter. Otherwise I think this is what I'm looking for

Any part is fine, even the surrounding areas. I'm trying to avoid driving 3-4 hours.

If my horse wasn't so old & grumpy, I would tell you to bring the kids out where he is. But he is old & grumpy.

There is horseback riding at the Stockyard Stables. Try Benbrook Stables too. But anywhere you go, you might run into an age issue. A lot of public places have a 10 year age min.

I'm old and grumpy too, so maybe we'd be a perfect match!!

The Stockyards might be perfect as its a short ride, cheap (if the kids won't ride, that's a couple hundred wasted dollars) and it's open for kids - at least the arena ride is.

Thanks!

Another idea, try finding the local playday arenas and going and watching one. The local riders probably know where to go, and as a kid I led more than a couple of first time riders that age and older around a playday arena following my own horse
