I love how this thread is thriving even though I didn't buy any BBQ sauce. I put 10 minutes of effort and made Underwood's(Brownwood anyone?) BBQ Sauce(my family has the recipe).

Texas-Texas out of Austin makes some spicy Chipotle BBQ sauce that HEB carries if you can find it. Not too sweet and not too much vinegar. Just the right amount of kick for BBQ.

I went to that over Stubbs and Sweet Baby Rays.Got both of em beat.

Obligatory: if it needs sauce, you cooked it wrong.

I like Rudy's sauce, but I've never ha it outside of the restaurant. I'm going to look into the Rufus Teague stuff. I think I saw a news story about him not too long ago.

For rubs, I like the CajuTex stuff made in Bryan. For marinades, I think it's hard to go wrong with good old Worcester sauce.

I love dry rub BBQ. However, a small dab of good sauce on the side is nice to cut up the flavor ever few bites.

I LOVE pecan Lodge's sauces, and he even gives up how to make them on youtube on diners drive-ins and dives. We always make our own carolina sauces since there are none to be found at most N. Dallas stores.
