Anybody that has used both care to offer their opinion?

Use would be typical farm related stuff. Cubing cattle, riding into pasture to count cattle, hauling fencing supplies, things of that sort.

So far there are only two downsides to the mini trucks I can see: their length and availability.

It seems that everything else is comparable with the exception of the minis being cheaper.

However I have never used a mini, so anybody that has please let me know what you thought about it.

Sounds like you need to get an old, small Toyota 4x4 pickup or something along those lines. Its not any bigger than the big Polaris, is a lot cheaper, will go anywhere and at least you could be enclosed with a heater or ac

I would never recommend a mini truck to any one that is not a professional mechanic. I've had 2 and they both were the biggest POS I've ever dealt with. I've had 6 Kawasakii mules and 2 Kubota RTVs. Never dealt with the Polaris version. The Kubotas are better for working and the Kawasaki's are better in the mud. The Kubota's come standard with hydrolic beds and outputs if that matters to you. Plus you can run red diesel in them.

PS: I'm 5'7" and I am almost to big for a mini truck, so if you are a big guy I dought you will like driving it.

I think an older toyota 4x4 would be great.

Shouldn't break down much.

I'm 6'1", 200++ and am very comfortable driving them.
I've had different ones that size for over 20 years.

I wonder if the mini-truck thing would be partly dependent on a critical mass. When I was Wyoming, there were lots of them where I was. Probably easier to get serviced that way. My uncle never complained about his. But he wasn't using it intensively.

Suspension will beat you to death in a mini truck if you do any kind of off roading. SXS will go way more places and be much more comfortable
