Alright Ags, I have a chance to buy an old Colt 1911. From what I have read, it appears to be a normal GI Army model. The seller has the original US stamped leather holster and said it was carried during the Korean War. I checked the serial # on Colt's site and I think it was made in either 1927 or 1933. Is there anyone here that has experience with old Colts who could give me some pricing guidance in terms of what I should offer? I've seen a very wide range for similar guns ($500-$2000). Apparently 4 different companies manufactured these for Colt(Remington Rand, Colt, Ithaca, USS & Singer). I've heard the value depends on which plant produced it (with Singer being the most valued bc they only made 500 units).
The Serial # is 585897.
Any help is greatly appreciated!! Here are some pics that hopefully are the right size.

I think you can click each pic for the full size image.
