Seriously, get them on film, inform them you have pics, and then call local law enforcement

some good ideas here and some silly ideas. if you have a 15 month old, you know early mornings. get up and start filming. don't mess with a game cam; get the video recorder out, pour some coffee and start filming. take it to the school

I agree with the filming/pictures. Try to catch them in the act by parking maybe in your wife's car a few doors down or down the road 20-30 yards. Sit in the back seat with camera and stalk their punk a$$!

Then, if you see one messing with your truck, try to get his "actions" on tape/film. Once the bus arrives, hurry up and try to get on it. Talk to the driver and tell him/her that one of the kids just vandalized your truck and you want their name. See if she will tell you the kids name once you point him out. If she does go to the school with the kids name. If not maybe tell the kid they have two options, 1) give me your parents name and phone number or 2) If you don't tell me who your parents name, I'll just go to the cops and press charges for vandalizing my property.

lol at calling the cops on a bunch of prank happy kids, I would hope the police have a few more important things to be doing.

Revised plan:

Post map to Texanhurricane91's house. Hand out to kids. Assure them they can vandalize his stuff with impunity.

Have Akita go tear down their fences.

Pass out flyers to all houses in the neighborhood that a registered sex offender lives at your address.

This is great until your mother or father-in-law shows up asking questions after they see the flier.

I would get up early, get pics and if you can't find their names and their parents with minimal effort, call the cops.

As a former punk kid myself, don't do anything too ridiculous or they'll keep coming back for the rush of seeing how you react. We used to ring and run my friends neighbor bc the guy would literally jump in the car and chase us around the neighborhood. I'll never forget that guy. It was so funny to watch him flip out.

Another example I never experienced but he was a legend in the Tascosa side of Amarillo. Old man Beckham, he'd let his dogs out after kids...kids would mess with him for the simple fact that he completely over reacted every time.

I'm a proponent a lot of the tactics above. But it may also be worth your while to have a LEO stop by one morning and briefly talk to them. I was a little punk sh** in HS, and once the cops arrived it was done, at least for a while. Best idea though is call the district and move the stop.

Find out which kid it is and have them move the bus stop to his house.

Found out the names of the ones messing with my stuff, they are in 7th grade, funny how quick they are to sell each other out. Called the non-emergency police made a report. Set up my HD Kodak mini-cam on the garage window covering the truck and walk to front of house. Got their school by calling the bus service, and called and talked to the school vice pricipal. He is turning over to the school officer...hopefully they will feel some heat and leave stuff alone if not it will be captured in HD video.

As for defending the kids actions. Just let me know when your small children fall asleep and I will come over and ring the doorbell 10 times/knock on the door loudly...we'll see how you react then.

Like protecting homeowners in Surfside from thugs who parked in peoples yards, vandalized their property and threatened them with murder and rape? How about arresting scumbags who gunned down 3 victims in front of many witnesses?

The cops don't really seem to get around to "more important things" unless you mean writing speeding tickets.

Call the police. Messing with your truck and ringing your doorbell are criminal activities. The police should be willing to come by there for a few mornings and inform the kids that they are not to step on your property at all and if they do, they will get in trouble. Given the area you live in, I'm sure that will be enough. If it isn't, then you can escalate it with the department and the school district. If worse comes to worse, you can hire an attorney, go to court, and force the district to move the bus stop.

Just an idea for those that this applies:

Disconnect your doorbell.

Flip the circuit breaker, wire a switch on interior wall, or just disconnect a wire.

If you think this is stupid then this does not apply to you. Ring on!

Hire a local homeless man to hang out in your driveway every morning. Eventually the parents will get worried about their kids and have the bus stop moved.

FYI - do not approach the bus driver and do not get on the bus. It's against the law to interfere with school transportation and the driver won't be able to do anything anyway. Get the bus number, call the transportation dept of your school district and find out what school the route delivers to then call and talk with the assistant principal there. Present your evidence and see if they will handle it. Since the kids are waiting for the bus, they can face consequences through the school as well as the police, if you intend to go that far.

Like most have said - get pictures and video if possible.

Just a quick warning about the water sprinkler response - make sure that you're not violating any watering restrictions. The cops may not care about punks vandalizing law abiding homeowners, but they're all about enforcing the water restrictions ($250+ fine)...

Call george Zimmerman, I hear he's not doing much right now. He might have some ideas for you.
