So the dog dug quite a bit in the puppy stage, but doesn't dig very much at all anymore. I've got holes that vary in size from 1 foot around and 1 foot deep, to some about that are very small... maybe about size of a soda can.

What's the best/cheapest way to fill these in? I don't anticipate that the dog will dig any more, by the way.

Err.... Dirt?

I level low spots in the yard each year before the grass (st. augustine) comes in each spring, that way new growth will cover the spot.

If you already have grass growing get some sand, you can water it in better and the grass below seems to come up better through the sand than dirt.

hah.. is this question for real?

what did the dog remove that resulted in holes? Dirt.
How do you fill em back in?

DIRT!

go buy some topsoil, it's about $2-$3 for 40 lbs. A couple bags should do the trick.

Crap... I know the answer is dirt. I meant to be more specific about where to buy maybe a truckload of dirt or something... this is awkward.

Landscaping places have dirt, sand, mulch that can be bought buy the "yard"

If you cant find one on google, call someplace that does the actual work and ask them where they get their supplies.

Without informing me, my wife bought a semi-load of dirt for $200 last week to fill in some holes around the house. I've still got some (a lot) left if you want some.

This thread is how Aggie jokes get started.

Do what I did. Got to Home Depot and buy a 45 gallon Red Oak tree and 30 bags of topsoil. Use the dirt from the hole you dig for the tree to fill all the holes that the dog and kids dug and then use the topsoil to fill in around the tree. That way you get a new tree and no holes.
