stoeger or yildiz?

Looked at a stoeger at gander today for 329.99 and a yildiz for 399.99. The stoeger was a 12, the yildiz I looked at in both.

I like the pull length and barrel length on the yildiz's(I don't care for the 12 in either to be honest.....kinda bulky.), but don't like the weight....I've had cheap airsoft guns that feel better in my hands, and certainly that have a better weight feel to them. The stoeger was a 26" I THINK, and was a 12. I liked the weight and the construction of the gun, but would have like a little longer pull(I actually think with a good limb saver it would be just about right for me...).

So the question is which one. I'm looking for a gun to...not replace, but to use in place of, my browning as a trap gun. I will most likely still hunt my A-5 in 16, but the shells are outrageous. 9.99 a box for the cheapest thing I can get on a consistent basis here, and 8 a box is as good as I've found them period. Compare than to 4 a box and shooting a few boxes at the range on clays becomes an expensive proposition.

I want to add the O/U because I don't own one, and I don't like pumps. Another A-5 in 20 or 12 is a consideration, but a good one is out of my ~400$ budget( I still need to replace my fly rod soon as well...), and I would like to try an O/U.

So what do y'all think about the two guns, for what I want them for?

Both are reputable brands, I personally would say go with the one that you are more comfortable with especially since you will be target shooting with it.

I know if I got hold of the yildiz, I'd be adding lead to the stock.

One thing that shocked me, I picked up a citori 12 with a 26" barrel on it and was completely unimpressed. It was nose heavy as hell. I know they aren't all like this, but it was not what I expected in a gun of that quality.

Any opinions on 20 vs 12 for trap?

You looked at the Condor, I guess...

Did you check out the Uplander?

I really cant vouch for a 20 over 12/vice versa- I've only ever shot trap/skeet with a 12ga.

In the yildiz? I take it the uplander is the slightly more expensive one. If you're talking the citori, I just looked at what they had. I know I handled a MUCH nicer citori model at the range a few weeks ago that felt NOTHING like this gun. It was solid, balanced, and swung beautifully. first O/U I ever shot to...

Aretmis- I haven't shot 12 in years so I'm still a little unsure with it all. Dad had a 12 that was traded years ago. I've mainly shot my 20 sxs, because it's what I love for squirrel(it's a full/mod fixed choke, and the mod cylinder is deadly for tree rats at range.....). I'm pretty new to shooting clays but loving it...

Ag of 08... I have a Stoeger 3000 in 12 guage that I would consider parting with. Also have the extended chokes it came with plus some extra Trulock chokes (3 of them at about $42 a piece.) I am in Austin. $400 takes it all. Gun has less than 100 rounds through it.

I just want to replace it with a semi-auto and have a lead on a nice Benelli SBE II but need some funds for it.

I am in Austin, and would prefer F2F...

PM me if you are interested.

no, the Uplander is the SxS, while the Condor is the O/U.

Don't want a SxS, have two of those . They're both good solid gun, and great for squirrels and ground targets. Not keen on SXS for flying targets. I ALWAYS miss with the damn trailing barrel, never fails!

Wadd I'll keep that in mind. I'm 6 hours from you though, so it would be a little tough

so don't shoot with the trailing side

just fire it gangsta style...

anyway, I brought it up because I've been looking at a Stoeger Uplander for a while now... I want to retire my Sears Roebuck & Co. 101.7C, but I still want a SxS to use...

double trigger, screw in chokes, better locking mechanism, and 28" bbl. ...MSRP of $399

I have the yildiz in 20 ga. It works fine for the doves and clays although it is light. Most of the good shooters I know who shoot a lot of clays are gunning with 12 ga's with a 30" or 32" barrel vs the 26" the yildiz comes in. Probably why you are talking about some lead.
