I got my first backpackers backpack at WalMart... not bad for a Coleman product. I have friends that have been with me that purchased far more expensive packs and were not nearly as satisfied as i was with my $70 pack! It's worth a shot to at least go check it out. Academy is starting to carry some pretty good stuff.

geartrade.com Backcountry.com's site for returns etc. but other people list things on there as well.

I got a good deal on a few things from them (including an Osprey daypack) with no qualms.

This thread makes me want to head to storage, grab my tent and go camping for a week.
