What do yall think about them? I've always been a Kawasaki guy, but I could get a good deal on a new one at a dealer. What are yall's pros and cons on them? Thanks in advance

I grew up with a Polaris. It was a 1985 year model. It lasted until about 2000-2002. And it was absolutely trashed by my brother. He left it sunk it in a creek, broke the drive shaft, and several other little things. Just a little work and it was ready to go.

I will say that we went with a Honda after the Polaris finally quit. But that is only because the parts/ labor was more expensive.

We have had the Honda for 5 years now and have been very happy with it.

IMHO, I think Polaris makes a superior atv. They would be my first choice of any other brand. I have a buddy with a Honda and a Kawasaki that are okay. He has not had any problems with them but he does not treat his nearly as bad as I treat my polaris. It takes a lickin and keeps on going.

We have an 2002 Polaris 500 Sportsman. I really don't like it, specifically the transmission. I feel like you really have to gas it to get it started moving and it's hard to get it to just creep along, even in the low gear setting. I also don't care for the all wheel drive system. It's supposed to engange when the rear wheels slip. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It just doesn't seem to have the power of my old Honda Rancher 350. The Polaris does have a smoother ride than the older Hondas.

ATVs seem to be following pickup trucks in that the manufactures are adding useless features to up the cost that I don't want or need. Power steering? A more powerful engine? I wish they'd focus on making the things start as easy as a truck/modern tractor regardless of the outside temp.
