That is how I was raised as well, we just didn't apply it to destructive nuisance animals that taste like sh**.
And that approach is wholely unrealistic for attempting to control feral pig populations. I encourage everyone to shoot every feral hog they see, hell run them over, whatever it takes. It's for the good of our ecosystem in Texas to kill these things on site. If the choice is to kill one hog in a group then process it or kill five and dump them, I would advise to kill five and dump them. I confident is saying that any wildlife biolgist, game manager, Game Warden, and so would agree.
Sportsmanship is to be strived for, no question. But we should make exceptions now and then and feral hogs is one of them. Besides, it's not about hunting them, it's about killing them just the same as an exterminator kills rats.
