I searched, but couldn't find the link to the website that sells inexpensive HDMI cables.

Any help would be appreciated.

I was talking to my roommate who works at Circuit City. Has been for a long time. He has seen people come in with problems after using cheap HDMI cables like the ones you find at monoprice.

Many times their cables or even the socket on their tv or component have blown out because the cheaper ones cannot handle the amount of info being sent.

So word of wisdom, careful about buying cheap cables. Make sure you have a warranty that will cover it.

Seriously, if you're going to try to spread bs, you might want to provide a link or at least better info than "my roommate that works at blah blah blah".

A cheaper monoprice cable will not cause any problems with your set. The worst possible outcome is that the cable doesn't work. It will not hurt your set or your component in any way. If you want to know the true difference between expensive Monster Cable and a Monoprice "cheap" cable read this article...

There is a difference (sometimes), but for most users at normal cable run lengths there is no difference at the current resolutions/frame rates used today.

Complete horsesh*t. Your friend is just reciting what the CC people told him to use as FUD about cables. You notice how skinny the little copper wires are in these cables? That's because they have to carry signals smaller than telephone signals. Your friend ought to blow it out his.....

Gotta agree with Spicewood. I've never seen a negative review in regards to monoprice's hdmi cables. If their stuff didn't work (much less blowing out people's expensive equipmen)t, it would be all over the internet. CC and Best Buy just hate losing out on their 1000% markup items.

I just ordered four 6' cables shipped from monoprice for less than one 3' Philips cable at walmart. Thanks to everyone for their input.

I've ordered 4 HDMI's from monoprice and have never had a problem with over a year of use.

I've also ordered cell phone batteries & a Wii-mote recharger kit that have all worked great.

I found the HDMI connector totally blown off the back of the back of my TV and something that looked like a mix of battery acid and alien blood oozing from the back of my TV after only a week of using monoprice cables. I guess all of the data couldn't get through, and just like crimping a water hose, the pressure build-up was too much. I am going to lose my apartment deposit for sure now, because the HDMI connector was propelled through several walls from the intense pressure.

Yeah, that makes perfect sense.

I can't tell you how many Cisco routers I have gone through after hooking a generic cable. I should have used Monster Ethernet cables.

I get my cables from www.bluejeanscable.com. Couldn't be happier, they have excellent quality cables for the price.

Yes, I came home to find my living room wall in the neighbors backyard and my plasma on the couch.

I've heard this is only if you are watching something like Transformers or porn though, so it shouldn't be a problem for...wait, this is a serious problem.

All joking aside. There really is a difference that can be seen in monster and monoprice hdmi cables.

Try promo code EMCPWWP97 for $2.50 off but I think it's expired. Just ordered 2 of these the other day for $3 shipped.

We got totally burned by one. Zeros and ones all over the place... it was a huge mess and took forever to clean up. They're small so it's like vacuuming toner.

All I know is that I would never use anything but this type of cable again.

It will change your life.

I bought a subwoofer cable once and it didn't work at all. Monoprice replaced it promptly.

I think if the cable works, it'll work but what about general craftsmanship?

I love monoprice

I agree on avoiding cheap cables.

I was using monoprice ethernet cables to network my bitcoin farm. Things went great the first week.

However, on the second week I came back from vacation, and about 10% of the cables had overloaded and flooded my basement with bits. They were knee deep.

The biggest issue is, I am pretty sure I solved an algorithm and was issued a lot of 50 bitcoins. At $1,000 dollar a pop, that is a serious chunk of change, and it all leaked out onto the floor of my bitcoin farm due to those lousy cables.

How in the hell am I going to get all of those bits back together in the right order and back into my bitcoin wallet?
