I haven't played regularly since Burning Crusade, but this seems so 40 year old father of 2 friendly with the horizontal progression that I'm in.

Got a rogue to 27, priest to 20, and hunter to 16.

I stopped playing because I didn't want to burn myself out before the release. Getting to revisit this world for the first time in nearly 20 years has been a blast. I'm looking forward to the journey starting on Nov 4th. It will be interesting playing WoW this time, now that the community knows so much. Back in vanilla, we just played to play. Nothing was efficient and the idea of min maxing wasn't really a thing.

Kind of want to play a priest, but I also want a raid spot with the group I'm planning to raid with, so chances are I'm leveling a rogue like I did back in vanilla.

I think my plan is to try and re-create those days of no min maxing and just have fun in Azeroth. I know it'll creep back in to a degree when my buddies and I start raiding, but I'm going to make every effort I can to not make this a super sweaty gaming engagement. Knowing that I can take a month off and come back without some new level cap to chase is really refreshing for me.

As far as starter, I'm leaning towards going Skyborne Shaman. My buddies prefer Horde and I was a huge Blood Elf fan in BC, so I'm leaning towards buying the new race to sort of recreate my fondness of Blood Elves. And I've never played Shaman.

I'm kind of doing the same. I contemplated using a leveling guide to streamline better, but ultimately I just plan on enjoying the journey.

Now, once i get to 60, I'll definitely start going for best in slot items to prepare for raiding and will look up guides to maximize my gold farming to save for my epic mount. I remember that grind being intense.

Will probably be playing on the Steam Deck when it comes out. Didn't want to play the beta, because it'd probably lose my attention if I had to start over.

Did you at least log on to the beta to see how gamepad support worked?

I never tried using a controller during the beta. I've heard some people try it and think it works well, especially when playing chill when leveling.

I don't know how well it will work in situations like PVP.

A couple of my buddies who are PC gamers through and through said the gamepad support was amazing and they may just play on their PCs with controllers.

I may have to test it out. I'm a big M&K guy but WoW definitely makes some sense to me with a controller. Couch WoW is pretty attractive.

I didn't, but I've used ConsolePort in the past and it works well enough for the kind of gameplay I'd be doing, mostly solo stuff. Downside is the chat is nearly impossible to use, but there are some voice-to-text systems that look like they'd work with some tweaking.

Will be playing, likely pve horde, may go rp pvp if they open one, not sure I can take a regular pvp realm.

Have gotten druid to 28, shaman to 23, warrior to 21, and the rest in the teens except hunter since I mained hunter in vanilla.

I've had the best time with druid so far. Feral is definitely not a meme anymore.

Shaman always interests me since ive mained enhance in retail these last 2 xpacs (think im done with retail) but it has big time mana issues from what I can tell. Basically an auto attack machine.

I'll be there. I tooled around a bit in the beta and the nostalgia hit hard.

I'll be playing, Been playing Classic Era and Hardcore off and on for a while.

Overall a lot of the changes/updates/additions seem pretty solid. Although I am not a fan of the Skyborne or their starting area. Doesn't feel like part of Classic. But whatever, I just won't play one.

Undead Paladins are gonna be everywhere on launch.

I actually don't know how to answer this question. I guess I don't know what you're asking.

Do you know what an MMORPG is?

Technically, you can play without ever talking to another person. But you play on a server with literally hundreds of thousands of other players.

lol. Yes.

Some MMORPGs will let you essentially play solo though. Just curious if I can do that here unless the game is simply built around multiplayer and pointless to play otherwise.

Yes, you can play solo. You'll miss out on some content, particularly raids and dungeons, but there's a lot of solo content. It's also easier to play solo in retail WoW than it likely will be in Forever.

You can level 1 to max entirely by yourself and it's overwhelmingly the way I intend to play (unless I can convince IRL friends to play). It seems like their itemization/professions will allow you to get closer to 5 man dungeon gear, but TBD. PVP allows you to get decently top tier gear as well.

Back in the day dungeons weren't too much of a social hour if you didn't want. Hour or so of killing things and then out. Even less if you're DPS.

I was in a pretty serious raiding guild during vanilla and TBC. Was basically a part-time job. Have no interest in getting sucked into that all over again.

My friends are getting me back into it. I haven't played since high school.

Getting the old gang back together for this. A lot of really good players from all eras. Kinda crazy really. Better this than GTA VI.

I'm looking forward to it. Plan to go pvp even though I'm really more pve oriented, I like that bit of edge it brings in the open world. Plus, with the mega servers, I think I will be able to layer if I run into a situation where I am just getting griefed.

I'd love to jump back in. I haven't played much at all since Burning Crusade. The wife is pretty opposed so maybe not. I have no interest in raiding but the game concept is interesting.

Layering now requires you to be in a certain proximity to the person youre grouping with to layer. Its awful. Don't count on that.

PvP ruleset is going to seriously be cancer and it serves no purpose when they will be making new battlegrounds.

Leveling an alt will be an absolute nightmare with bored 60s everywhere.

I think if they make an RP PvP server it might be a little better but yeah all the streamer toxic crowd all on PvP server sounds no bueno.

Will need to start sharing Bnet tags so we have some people to instance with, once the release hits. I'm probably going rogue, so will be needing some groups.
