Getting pretty excited for this new remaster coming next week... Curious what the consensus is on starting fresh or doing a New Game+ run? It's been so long since I did my original play through that I've been leaning towards just starting completely fresh.

I'm going to do a new game + because i just finished my first playthrough in a decade. They said they are updating the skill tree and some other things so I'm excited to see how they differ.

Hmmm didn't consider the new skill tree angle. Wonder if I could just wipe my skill tree from the jump on New Game+, or heck it might just automatically do it for you if changers are drastic enough. Been having a hard time figuring out what my move is here on this play through.

Wouldn't a new play through in New Game+ allow me to start fresh on who I'm trying to swoon? I got way too carried away trying to bang anything that walks and wound up with Yennefer somehow and I absolutely want to go down the Triss path this time.

Seen on X recommending disabling bloom effect on PC for now as it washes out the color when enabled.

So apparently, the bloom option in The Witcher 3 remaster is broken, making the game look washed out.

I have it installed and the game directory migrated to NVMe drive, just waiting on the family to hit the sack so I can fire it up!

I played it last year for the first time on my kiddos switch 1. I'm sure it plays much better on better consoles but damn it was awesome.

I've got an AMD 9070XT and my drivers were up to date according to their driver manager. But when I launched the game it said I didn't have the latest so I went to the AMD website and sure enough there's some beta drivers built specifically with this remaster in mind. My visuals were buggy and just off before I updated. Now the game looks in credible after a little tinkering. No path or ray tracing for me, and I turned off all the modern garbage gimmicks like bloom, motion blur, depth of field, etc..

Well....has anyone dove into this yet? I re-downloaded last night along with new patch this morning but haven't fired it up yet.

Triss awaits me though.....

I'm a few hours back into a New Game+ playthrough. Looks incredible, I can't get over how good it looks on PC. Feels good to be back in this world again.

Looks really nice. I mostly notice better rain/wet effects and the hair doesn't clip through clothing as much.

The movement feels less clunky in general, the group loot feature is amazing!

I like the new skill tree structure as well. I resumed my most recent re-play so I'm already at the masquarade ball with Triss.

I started a fresh DM playthrough, just got to Velen

I played it back in 2020 and only got to Skellige, but put it down for some reason. I cant recall. Pseudo fresh play because I dont remember anything.

The game plays well, and generally graphically looks very good. Tons of bugs came with it though. Geralt hair and skin randomly changes color sometimes depending on lighting have to quicksave more than I would like since the game likes to randomly lockup and crash to desktop.

Weird, not a single issue for me after 5+ hours. What GPU are you running and did you grab the latest drivers manually?

Have you downloaded the two patches they released since Remaster launch?

Yes. Current on game version and GPU drivers. Running a 4080 super and its not remotely stressed.

I switched to AMD this most recent generation, but I had to go and download some beta drivers that weren't officially launched yet. AMD's software told me I had the latest but there was actually a set of drivers developed specifically for Witcher 3 launch it wasn't pulling. Worth checking nvidia's site to see if it's the same. Made a massive difference for me.

enjoying it so far. i have had several playthroughs that I just abruptly stopped and never finished the game, so looking forward to taking my time and finishing it off.

Nice! PC is a double edged sword… it looks incredible when you push the right buttons but I swear it takes me 30 minutes of tinkering with every game I fire up for the first time to find the right combination.

Everytime i fire it up and hear this song, i have to listen until she's done.
